What Does Bingo Center Do in Cookie Clicker? Upgrades Guide

Justine

Cookie Clicker has a ton of sweet and chaotic fun awaiting its players, from freshly baked cookies to terrifying havoc and mayhem. The Grandmapocalypse is one of the most interesting events that can happen in the game, but it requires the Bingo Center and upgrades – many players wonder what else the Bingo Center does in the game as a result.

The Bingo Center in Cookie Clicker acts as a Research Facility, enabling players to access upgrades as well as efficiency benefits for grandmas. Players will need to unlock 7 grandma types, and the base cost will amount to around 1 quadrillion cookies.

While unlocking the Bingo Center in Cookie Clicker will be worthwhile for most players, it is not an easy process. Stick around to find out everything you need to know about the Bingo Center in Cookie Clicker , how to unlock it, as well as the unique events and benefits that it leads to in the game.

What Does The Bingo Center Do In Cookie Clicker?

Having the Bingo Center, also known as the Research Facility in Cookie Clicker, will unlock a new upgrade after 30 minutes. Although, research will only start once the last item researched is purchased. The primary benefits of the Bingo Center in Cookie Clicker are as follows:

  • 5 multiplier upgrades
  • 1 upgrade to double grandma efficiency
  • 3 upgrades to greatly increase grandma output

Is The Bingo Center Worth It In Cookie Clicker?

The Bingo Center is currently the only upgrade to make a building four times as efficient, as of update 1.036. Although its price of around 1 quadrillion cookies is definitely a milestone that will take time to reach, the Bingo Center is worth the cost. According to the Cookie Clicker Wiki :

“In theory, fully upgraded grandmas are the most efficient building a player can buy because they have a CpS based on the number of grandmas purchased. That is grandma’s CpS rate increases quadratically where other CpS rates increase linearly. “

Cookie Clicker upgrades are quite expansive, as there are currently 663 normal upgrades and 13 debug upgrades in the entire game.

upgrades

With that being said, the crossover point where grandmas outperform the best buildings will require the purchasing of so many grandmas. Increasing grandma level will ultimately increase the grandma CpS by 1% per level as you progress. Securing a higher number of grandmas and grandma levels will enable more stockbrokers to be hired in the Stock Market mini-game, which can help you lower the overhead cost.

How To Unlock The Bingo Center In Cookie Clicker

Players can unlock the Bingo Center in Cookie Clicker once they have the Elder Achievement. There is a fairly wide range of grandmas in Cookie Clicker, but players will need to unlock 7 specific grandma types to unlock the Bingo Center, namely the farmer, worker, miner, cosmic, transmuted, altered, and grandmas’ grandma.

How Do You Get 7 Grandma Types?

Grandmas are the main antagonists in Cookie Clicker, both in the Classic version as well as within the 1.0 Update. She costs 100 cookies and will produce 1 CpS by baking them for the player – she is also one of the two buildings shown at the very beginning of the game.

Should I Start The Grandmapocalypse?

Players can enjoy the horrific Grandmapocalypse after a certain point in Cookie Clicker, a mini-game that changes many key elements of the classic game in a variety of ways. The background completely changes the feel, topped with Golden Cookies being replaced with Wrath Cookies and Wrinklers (which look like tiny worms) latching onto the player’s main cookie.

As a result, this event is not something players should rush into early on in the game – in fact, players even get a warning before triggering it. It’s more recommended for players that have neared of reached the endgame, as it’s better to have a lot of grandmas as well as a high CpS before starting the event.

warning

The Grandmapocalypse in Cookie Clicker can be triggered by players purchasing the One Mind upgrade from the Research Facility. It will be indicated by shaking, flashing, and a tiled background of grandmas.

Should I End The Grandmapocalypse?

Although the Grandmapocalypse can seem incredibly daunting at first and players often wonder if the entire experience is worth it, the event can bring in some amazing CpS, research upgrade unlocks, as well as the chance to get a variety of achievements. In addition, the Wrath Cookies provided by the Grandmapocalypse provide the chance of getting numerous status effects that can alter the player’s CpS for the effect’s duration.

56 Best Cross-Platform Games (Free & Paid) in 2024

However, some players may feel like they want to end the event – either because they’ve had enough of it or have gotten the most out of its benefits for the time. But, either way, players will need to get through the complete event to get the ability to end it.

grandmapocalypse

The event will progress in stages, starting with Awoken, then Displeased, and finally Angered/ Appeased. Getting through the final stage will add Elder Pledge and Elder Covenant to the game, and players will need to use them to put a stop to the Grandmapocalypse.

grandma

Players can choose to end the Grandmapocalypse either temporarily or permanently if they feel they’ve had enough of the activity. But, they both have certain pros and cons, as seen below:

Elder Pledge

The Elder Pledge will cause the game to be paused for 30 minutes, and players will be able to enjoy the classic Cookie Clicker game during that time – this pledge can be purchased multiple times. After players have used it ten times, they can research Sacrificial Rolling Pins to increase the duration.

Elder Covenant

The Elder Covenant ends the Grandmapocalypse event permanently, but it does come with a price that may not be worthwhile for some players – CpS will be reduced by 5% for the rest of the game. If players want to return to the Grandmapocalypse after using the Elder Covenant, they can revoke it by spending 6.66 billion cookies. While this is a hefty cost, the upside is that players will get 5% of their CpS back by revoking the Elder Covenant.

The Bingo Center/ Research Facility in Cookie Clicker definitely offers some amazing benefits for players, from awesome upgrades to unique yet challenging endgame events. Although it will take time to gather everything you need to unlock it, it’s definitely worth the effort!

Cookie Clicker: Grandmapocalypse Guide

How to trigger the most infamous event in the game. Including all the details you’ll need to get started on the Grandmapocalypse, Wrinklers and Wrath Cookies.

How to trigger

Grandmas are an unique type of building. They have 2 upgrades, normal upgrades that are unlocked by having a certain number of Grandmas (These have rolling pin icons and are not relevant), and synergy upgrades that are unlocked by having fifteen of other buildings (These have Grandma icons).

Congratulations! You’ve doomed us all.

Phase ?: Appeased

how to do research projects cookie clicker

  • Ruin! : Lose cookies. The opposite of  Lucky!
  • Clot : Halves CpS for 66 seconds. The opposite of Frenzy
  • Building debuff : Cuts CpS by a certain amount. This depends on the amount you own of a random building. The opposite of Building buffs.
  • Cursed Finger : For 10 seconds, it turns CpS to 0, but every click grants you 10 seconds of your CpS. Similar to Click Frenzy.
  • Elder frenzy : Boosts CpS by x666 for 6 seconds. One of the strongest effects in the game.

As you can see, Wrath Cookies can be a bit of a gamble. But the positive effects greatly counterweight the negative ones. Golden Cookies are generally still better, because Clots can hurt quite a bit.

If you’re farming Golden Cookies, you should stop the Grandmapocalypse at Phase 1, since you can get Wrinkler benefits while also getting a pretty high chance of getting Golden Cookies. You should still get to Phase 3 on your first runs to get the Grandmapocalypse Achievements.

Wrath Cookies still count towards your Golden Cookies Clicked, so don’t worry about not making progress towards Golden Cookies Achievements.

If you’re an idler who doesn’t care much about hunting for Golden Cookies, there is no reason not to go all the way to Phase 3.

Cookie Clicker: How To Cause The Grandmapocalypse

All hail the new flesh.

how to do research projects cookie clicker

One of the most bizarre, twisted, and freakish twists in video games comes from Cookie Clicker . If you’ve heard of Cookie Clicker , it’s because of this infamous event — the Grandmapocalypse. And now that Cookie Clicker is out on Steam , its the perfect time to revisit one of gaming’s most brain-melting moments. This isn’t a standard clicker game, this is an abomination from the old gods. Cookie Clicker has granted us eyes so that we may see .

Cookie Clicker is a legendary clicker game created by the one-man dev team Julien “Orteil” Theinnot. Originally released as a browser game way back in 2013, this memetic game about creating your own cookie empire turned dark and strange thanks to constant updates from the creator, adding bizarre new features until we now have a very fully-featured little game all about clicking a big cookie endlessly.

In Cookie Clicker , you can upgrade your grandma workforce into a fleshy mass of endless baking potential. Here’s how to trigger the grandmapocalypse .

how to do research projects cookie clicker

How To Trigger The Grandmapocalypse Event

To begin the end times, you’ll need to fulfill some early steps. Before you can get started, you’ll need to unlock Grandmas — these are a building type that generates cookies automatically.

  • Step #1 : Purchase 7 Grandma types to unlock the “Elder” achievement.

There are many different grandma types. By upgrading and purchasing 7 different types of Grandmas (like the Farmer, or the Cosmic) you’ll get the Elder achievement, and unlock the next required building — the Bingo Hall / Research Center .

  • Step #2: Build the Bingo Hall / Research Center

The Bingo Hall / Research Center upgrade unlocks with the Elder achievement, and has the ability to make your Grandmas four times more efficient . The Research Center costs 1 quadrillion cookies to purchase, so it will take a lot of saving and clicking before you’ll be able to finally purchase it.

  • Step #3: Wait 30 Minutes For New Upgrades

The Research Center unlocks new upgrades after 30 minutes or so. Save up your cookies, because you’ll need 16 quadrillion cookies to purchase the upgrade required to trigger the Grandmapocalypse event.

how to do research projects cookie clicker

  • #1 : Specialized Chocolate Chips
  • #2 : Designer Cocoa Beans
  • #3 : Ritual Rolling Pins
  • #4 : Underworld Ovens
  • #5 : One Mind [ Triggers Grandmapocalypse Event ]

Purchase the upgrades in order as they unlock . Each time an upgrade pops up, purchase it and it will take about 30 minutes to unlock another upgrade. The final upgrade, One Mind , costs 16 quadrillion cookies . It also triggers the event, and will completely change your game, giving you disgusting new artwork and a bunch of new features.

What Is The Grandmapocalypse?

The Grandmapocalypse causes a slew of changes to the game. Not all of them are good. Some of them are disgusting. And certain changes are absolutely amazing.

  • Continue to purchase Research Facility upgrades to progress from Phase 1 to Phase 3. Once you reach the final phase, you can stop the effect of the Grandmapocalypse with an upgrade temporarily or permanently.
  • The background art will change. First the Grandmas become creepy, bloody and beedy eyed — then they become abominations of flesh .
  • Wrinklers and Wrath Cookies will spawn. Wrath Cookies replace Gold Cookies, and can give good bonuses or damaging debuffs to your cookie production.

Wrinklers are weird, slimy monstrosities that encircle your cookie and begin syphoning 5% off your Cookies Per Second . You can pop them immediately, or you can let them fill up — once filled, you can pop them for a huge cookie payoff bonus. Basically, there’s no reason to destroy Wrinklers immediately. Let them gorge on cookies, then pop them when they’re ripe for a big reward.

This is when the game gets weird . If the Grandmapocalypse is too disgusting for you, you can turn off the weird stuff in the Settings menu on Steam.

You can trigger the Grandmapocalypse by purchasing the "One Mind" upgrade from the Research Facility.

If you don't have a Research facility yet you can unlock it by having the "elder achievement" (have at least 7 different grandmas).

Once you have the research facility you will have to keep buying the upgrades that it unlocks until the "one mind" upgrade becomes available, which should be the 6th one. Each upgrade takes about 30 minutes to research and become available. Note that you need to purchase an upgrade before the next upgrade begins researching.

You need to have 15 farms, mines, factories, banks, temples, wizard towers, and shipments each, first, and buy the corresponding grandma-related upgrade, such as “Miner grandmas” or “Cosmic grandmas” and then you have access to the Bingo Center/Research Facility upgrade, taking you through 4 other research/facility upgrades and then the “One Mind” upgrade, and that starts the grandmapocalypse․ The catch is that Bingo Center/Research Facility upgrade is 1 quadrillion cookies, and the cost doubles for each further upgrade you go into, capping at 32 quadrillion for One Mind. (It keeps growing for the 4 that come after, though, including Communal Brainsweep and Elder Pact). Find out more at https://cookieclicker.fandom.com/wiki/Cookie_Clicker_Wiki

David Ziegler's user avatar

Another way to activate it is to first make Grandma hate you. And to do that you just need to make enough cookies and then she'll start saying things like, "It begins", or "We rise". When she starts saying that, you know it is getting close to Grandmapocalypse.

If you sell a Grandma, it gives you an achievement. "Sell a Grandma" and on the bottom right corner it says, "I thought you loved me", and then you will see messages from grandma saying,"It thought it could get rid of us, the nasty little thing.", or "It thought we would go away by selling us, how quaint.".

Best Cookie Clicker Strategy Guide

Laurel Devoto

At first glance, Cookie Clicker doesn’t look like it would require much in the way of strategy. When I started playing, I thought it was about clicking and waiting for cookies to bake . There’s a lot more to it than that, though.

Knowing the value of your buildings, the purpose of the upgrades, and how to increase your overall production will help you bake cookies faster than ever. You’ll be able to level buildings, unlock minigames, and purchase units that initially seem out of reach.

Best Cookie Clicker Strategy

The best Cookie Clicker strategies revolve around building selection, upgrades, and ascension .

Upgrade Early and Often

Upgrades don’t look quite as exciting as purchasing new cookie-producing facilities — but they give you a lot of bang for your buck. Upgrades are located above the building purchase area and increase cookie production and building efficiency.

Upgrade-in-cookie-clicker

Even if it means waiting to buy a new grandma or a portal, purchase the upgrades. Even if it seems like a small impact at first, they add up over time. Many of them apply to every building in a particular category or every building you own, which helps increase production even more quickly.

Choose Your Upgrades Wisely

Focusing on upgrades doesn’t mean you should purchase every upgrade as soon as you can. If you’re someone who likes to sit on the window and click , buy the upgrades that improve clicking. If not, purchase the upgrades that increase non-click production.

Don’t Skimp on Starter Units

Grandmas and cursors don’t seem as exciting when you can unlock shipments or alchemy labs but don’t make the mistake of skipping over them . Upgrades throughout the game increase the efficiency of the grandmas and cursors. They can also have a significant impact on how quickly other buildings produce cookies.

Invest-more-on-Grandmas-and-cursors-at-early

Purchase these units early in the game and continue topping them up throughout.

Not All Buildings are Equal

You don’t want the same number of each building. While you want many of the first two units — grandmas and cursors — you don’t need to make out the rest. Purchase 200 of each and then focus on buildings that give you a higher rate of return on total cookie production.

Walk Away for Awhile

Even if you’re a serious clicker, sometimes it’s better just to let the game run. While it might feel satisfying to purchase a large number of early upgrades, instead, let your cookies build up. When you come back, you can buy shipments, portals, or even time machines.

Every time you purchase a higher upgrade, you get a more satisfying CPS number . This means that every time you come back, there will be more cookies waiting for you.

Ascend and Reap Rewards

Ascending won’t make much sense at first glance. To ascend, click under the word “ Legacy ,” but beware: you will lose your buildings, cookies, and upgrades. What you gain are prestige levels and heavenly chips .

Ascend-and-Reap-Rewards

Prestige levels increase your CPS by 1 percent per level. Heavenly chips let you purchase upgrades. For example, the Heavenly Luck upgrade makes golden cookies appear 5 percent more often.

The upgrades take a long time to earn; they’re dependent on the number of cookies you’ve baked. However, they will have a significant impact on your success in the long run.

Go for Achievements

You can’t actively collect milk. Instead, you get more milk when you unlock achievements. Though you can’t see the achievements you haven’t earned in the game, you can click “ Stats ” to see the ones you’ve had so far.

Cookie-Clicker-Stats

Read through them, and you’ll have an idea of what you need to do to get more achievements. For example, increase the number of cursors, farms, or sugar lumps you’ve selected to reach new achievements.

Milk increases your cookie production. You can also improve your milk effects by selecting kitten upgrades.

Be Patient with Your Sugar Lumps

Sugar lumps begins to appear once you’ve made one billion cookies . You can trade each sugar lump for building upgrades. These upgrades unlock profitable minigames.

One-billion-cookie-sugar-lumps-1

The trick is that each sugar lump takes almost a full day to mature. You might be impatient but clicking it before it’s ready to be harvested means you only have a 50 percent chance to receive it . So be patient and only harvest when the sugar lumps are ripe.

Choose the Right Building Upgrades

While you can upgrade many of the buildings with sugar lumps, consider starting with the temple . It gives you the Pantheon game where you choose three spirits to worship at a time. This Cookie Clicker minigame gives you a buff that continues even when you aren’t actively playing the game.

You can also upgrade the wizard tower , which lets you cast golden cookies . The benefit of this game is that golden cookie combos can give you a more significant boost.

Actually Click Your Cookies

I’ve had Cookie Clicker open on my browser for about ten days now, and I still open the tab and click from time to time. It’s an excellent way to break up essential tasks or give myself a mental break. More importantly, being on the screen means you might catch a golden cookie .

Golden cookies give you a limited time boost in production most often. Sometimes they just give you a bundle of free cookies. All you have to do is click on them, read the effect, and follow the instructions — if there are any.

Click-on-cookies

For example, one of the golden cookies I got increased my clicker production for one minute. So I stayed on the screen and clicked as fast as I could! My reward was some extra cookies to trade for more upgrades.

Golden cookies appear, pulse, and disappear in less than 15 seconds. You must be on the screen to activate them.

So open your browser and start clicking. But don’t just focus on the cookies! Keep your eyes on sugar lumps, ascensions, and upgrades to create the best Cookie Clicker strategy.

Is it possible to beat Cookie Clicker?

There is no actual end to Cookie Clicker.  So, technically, it can’t be beaten. You can set up your own requirements for winning it, whether that’s getting all the achievements, baking a certain number of cookies, or unlocking all the upgrades.

Cookie Clicker Strategy Guide

This Cookie Clicker guide will help you collect cookies quickly and efficiently.

While there is no endpoint to the game, this strategy guide will help you efficiently collect cookies and spend your cookies wisely and efficiently for the best ROI (return on investment).

Below are six ways to make the most of your playthrough. Utilize these tips and tricks to get the cookies flowing! But first, I will provide a little background on the game.

Created by using JavaScript , Cookie Clicker is an online, browser-based game where the objective is to collect cookies available traditionally on PC but now also for PS4.

It was released by Orteil and Opti in 2013 as a bit of fun, but it quickly took off and became an internet phenomenon. Since its release, the game has experienced many changes—with a major reworking brought about after v2.

To get cookies, you click on them (hence the name). With the cookies that you have collected, you can purchase items to help you gather cookies faster. These items can:

  • Provide more cookies per click.
  • Automatically generate cookies (clickless cookies).
  • Upgrade cookie generation through clicking and clickless methods.

There are achievements to unlock and a prestige system to keep you hooked. The game also gives players a "soft target" to aim for, rather than a "hard ending" that most games have.

Return on Investment (ROI) can be applied to collecting cookies as well.

Return on Investment (ROI) can be applied to collecting cookies as well.

1. Return on Investment

The first point to consider in this strategy guide is Return on Investment (ROI).

Warning: Maths ahead.

This is a term often used in investment and personal finance and refers to what you are getting for your initial investment. In the "real world," people use money to make money. In this game, you are using cookies to make cookies, so the same principles apply.

When purchasing upgrades or buildings, consider what you want to gain from them. Simplistically, this is CPC (cookies per second). As the game develops, the cost of upgrades and buildings becomes exponentially higher and, therefore, much more costly. Therefore, consider if the upgrade will net you enough cookies per second to warrant the purchase at this stage.

Consider the following fictional scenario. You have 1000 cookies and have some choices:

  • Purchase 2 grandmas for 800 cookies to make 10 cookies per second each (total of 20 cookies per second).
  • Purchase 1 farm for 1000 cookies to make 28 cookies per second.

sorcerer-build-guide-in-dragons-dogma-for-bitterblack-isle-solo-hard-mode

Sorcerer Build Guide in "Dragon's Dogma" for Bitterblack Isle (Solo Hard Mode)

At first glance, the farm seems like the better option, although if it is broken down into a percentage yield from initial investment:

  • Grandmas are making 2.5% of the initial investment per second (taking 40 seconds to pay off the initial investment).
  • The farm is making 2.8% of the initial investment per second (taking 36 seconds to pay off the initial investment).

You can see that the farm is only marginally better. The above scenario presents two strategies to carry forward:

  • Purchase the grandmas and use the leftover 200 cookies to generate more cookies.
  • Purchase the farm to make more cookies in the long term.

This can be decided based on your strategy overall; if you feel as though you want to AFK and leave the game running, then the farm will be the best option. If you want to actively play, then the grandmas are the better option.

To summarise this section, the most obvious option isn't always the best one. Consider your Return on Investment and if your cookies are in the most efficient place. Buying new buildings is often a better return than going into the high level of upgrades of the initially lower-cost buildings in early game.

Keep in mind that there are more maths-based strategies out there.

2. Create a Decisive Strategy

The second point of this strategy guide is to decide on your preferred way of playing early and commit to it.

If you are happy to click away, then you are better off basing your strategy around clicking more.

If you prefer to leave it, then you are better off with a strategy based on automatic cookie generation.

This will essentially help you allocate your precious resources as efficiently as possible in line with your decided strategy. If you want to click, prioritise all of the click-based upgrades first, as it will net you more cookies in the long run.

This can help to avoid wasting cookies in areas that you have no intention of using.

3. Achievements

This is less obvious in the game, but it is still important. Every time you unlock a new achievement , you gain milk. This gives your cookie production a percentage bonus.

Try to make sure that you are constantly journeying towards unlocking these achievements to help you in the long run.

It is also worth scanning all of the achievements to see if you have "easy wins". It might be that you are very close but don't know it. With a simple upgrade, you can give yourself an instant boost.

Milk is also increased through unique upgrades that can be found with all the others, although it doesn't state what it does, Make sure you are collecting this upgrade at every opportunity.

I admit this is one aspect that I didn't realise for some time!

4. Upgrade Your Prestige

Once you reach a set target (the first being 1 trillion), you can ascend to a higher prestige level.

Each time that you ascend, you reset all of your cookies, buildings and upgrades; you will retain your achievements, though.

The benefit of ascending to the next prestige is that it passively increases your cookie income, so in the long run, you will be better off for doing so. Plus, it is nice to have a target to aim for!

You want to prestige as soon as you are able to (once you have hit the target) continue to be as efficient as possible.

5. Avoid Farms: Grandmas Are Great

Not all cookie-generated buildings are equal in this strategy guide.

It is generally accepted that grandma buildings and upgrades are excellent early on in the game and mature well into the later game due to the continuous upgrades that are available for them. Therefore, it can be efficient to pour your investments into the grandma tech tree.

Farms, on the other hand, are considered to be a poor investment. It is still worth purchasing them early on and getting a few upgrades, but don't throw all of your resources at them, as they can be better spent elsewhere.

6. Upgrading Is Important

Upgrades are really, really important.

It is especially important as you progress to the later stages of the game. It can be a really cost-efficient way of improving your cookies per second quite drastically.

Going back to the previous points in this strategy guide, always consider your return on investment and your strategy. Although it's a good idea to upgrade as soon as possible, it probably isn't a good idea to get upgrades for buildings you don't have. Likewise, it is a bad idea to get upgrades into clicking tech if you never plan to click.

Make sure that your upgrades are working for you, then get them as often as possible.

You'll Be Making Quintillions in No Time!

This strategy guide considers many points, but they should not be taken in isolation.

All of these suggestions should be taken together. The secret is to set a strategy for yourself, consider each investment, invest efficiently, and be persistent with it.

If you follow each of these points, you will be making cookies by the quintillions!

I went to the article https://theencarta.com/cookie-clicker-achievements... to confirm that you receive 4% milk for each achievement. However in my save file I am missing 12%. From what I can see for every shadow achievement you have you lose 4% Milk.

cyberleon on January 01, 2018:

I agree to TurtleEnergy.

Since the building boosts, passive play is almost worthless. One simple elder frenzy / clicking frenzy + "sell all farms" (Godzamok in Diamond slot) already outvalues the whole night you were afk with full wrinklers. If you have a normal frenzy and / or building bonus running, you will gain weeks and months of cookie production within those 20 seconds.

I would like to add a third point, for starters:

3. The building upgrades

Cookie clicker lacks an explanation when you look at an upgrade you already own: The upgrade description does not tell you when that upgrade became available and VISIBLE. The upgrades become visible at the respective building amounts 1, 5, 25, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300. They boost the cps of that building type *2, each time, for each building type. So, instead of getting your 134th prism, it might be better to push instead your antimatters from 145 to 150, to unlock - and therefore make visible - the level 150 antimatter upgrade and double the total antimatter income with it.

TurtleEnergy on July 31, 2017:

If you play Late game then you should have a lot of farms and mines even though they don't do nothing with two reasons:

1. The achievements

2. the most important: Godzamok, Spirit of Ruin, if you get a Sugar Lump use it on temple and put Godzamok on diamond!

every building you sell is 3% cps increase for a limited time, if you have idk 150 or 300 of farms and mines you can easily get 1500% bonus and this multiplies with other effects like Frenzy, clicking frenzy, elder frenzy and Dragonflight and even combining frenzy with one of these is even more powerful so get yourself this and you'll be going to the decillions in no time

Cookie Clicker strategy guide

Cookie Clicker strategy guide

Even though clicker games have already passed the peak of their popularity, many gamers worldwide still enjoy different clickers. These video games are incredibly straightforward, making them the perfect option to help you relax. Cookie Clicker is one of the best clicker games nowadays.

This article will teach you everything you need to know about Cookie Clicker. This  Cookie Clicker strategy guide  might significantly speed up your progress in the game.

1 TIP #1 - CREATE A STRATEGY

how to do research projects cookie clicker

While Cookie Clicker doesn’t have an endpoint, a strategy for this game is still essential. First, you must decide if you want to stay AFK and make the game farm cookies automatically, or play actively, clicking to reach the best cookies per second score.

Depending on this, you must invest money properly, purchasing boosts that will suit your strategy and stimulate growth.

2 TIP #2 - BUY NEW BUILDINGS

how to do research projects cookie clicker

Cookies are the foremost thing in Cookie Clicker and the primary currency used to progress in the game. Once you get more experience, you should buy different cookie buildings to get them passively.

Even though you can upgrade old buildings, they get a significant increase in prices every time you invest. At some point, improving your old buildings will not be as profitable, and it would be best to focus on the new ones.

New buildings might be much more expensive, but your investment margin will be much higher if you invest in new technologies.

3 TIP #3 - DON’T ACCUMULATE COOKIES

how to do research projects cookie clicker

As you know, cookies in Cookie Clicker are your leading resource. Even though the significant number of cookies on your account might satisfy your ego and make you feel better, accumulating cookies is one of the worst things you can do in the long run.

Different cookie-producing facilities give you profit. Even minor updates such as Cursor or Grandma significantly impacts your effectiveness. And as you progress in the game, cookie-producing facilities will become more and more beneficial, allowing you to earn millions of cookies per second.

4 TIP #4 - EARN PRESTIGE

how to do research projects cookie clicker

Even though this advice refers mainly to experienced players, beginners must know about Prestige and how it works. Each prestige level increases your total cookie production by 1% per second. It might seem like a minor improvement, but it allows you to reach the best result in the long run.

The only issue is getting Prestige levels. You need to Ascend to earn Prestige Points and increase your Prestige level. To do it, just press the Legacy button, which is located in the game’s main menu.

You will lose your progress and start over from scratch if you decide to Ascend. All your cookies will be converted into prestige and heavenly chips. Still, all the achievements will be saved on your account.

5 TIP #5 - GET MORE ACHIEVEMENTS

how to do research projects cookie clicker

Another essential resource in Cookie Clicker is Milk. It becomes handy during the late-game stages when you need to access the Kitten series of upgrades. Still, Milk cannot be obtained as quickly as cookies.

The best way to get Milk is to get new achievements. Even though the game doesn’t have a complete list of achievements that you can use to unlock the new ones, you can check the list of currently unlocked achievements by pressing the button Stats and entering the Statistics tab.

6 TIP #6 - BUY UPGRADES

how to do research projects cookie clicker

You can find various valuable upgrades that can double the effectiveness of your cookie-producing facilities and increase coin production multiplier, CpS, and other vital stats in the store.

The only issue is that purchasing upgrades at the beginning game’s stages might cost you an arm and a leg. Still, as you increase CpS and get more cookies, getting upgrades becomes much more straightforward.

Consider that the most valuable updates are those that increase the effectiveness of cookie-producing facilities. They are the most beneficial, so investing money in them should be the priority.

7 TIP #7 - SPEND SUGAR LUMPS WISELY

how to do research projects cookie clicker

Getting the first billion cookies in Cookie Clicker is not only an essential personal achievement in the game but also an opportunity to move to the next stage. Getting one billion cookies unlocks Sugar Lump, a valuable resource that can help you progress.

Sugar Lumps are primarily used for upgrading buildings, which is necessary to progress in the game. Sugar Lump has a maturity period of 24 hours, which means that you should wait a day before using them for the highest effectiveness.

8 TIP #8 - PLAY MINIGAMES

how to do research projects cookie clicker

If you get tired of playing Cookie Clicker, there is an excellent way to diversify your in-game experience and try something new in the game - mini-games. There are four different mini-games. Make sure to try each one so that you will never get bored in Cookie Clicker.

That’s it with the Cookie Clicker strategy guide. Just follow the particular tips from this guide, and you will progress in the game much faster. After getting this far, why not check out the Cookie Clicker: Garden guide and learn more about the Heavenly Chips ?

The Grandma is the main antagonist of Cookie Clicker Classic and the 1.0 Update . She is the second building in the game, costs 100 cookies and produces 1 CpS by baking them for you. She is one of the two buildings shown when the game first begins (the other being cursors ).

Once you have unlocked 7 grandma upgrades, you unlock the Bingo Center/Research Facility, which is the only upgrade to make a building four times as efficient unlocking a new upgrade after 30 minutes (research only starting once the last item researched is purchased), including five multiplier upgrades, one upgrade to double grandma efficiency, and three upgrades to greatly increase grandma output and start the Grandmapocalypse .

Unlike most buildings, Grandmas have additional upgrades that boost production, including the Grandma type upgrades, the previously mentioned research upgrades, various heavenly upgrades and the Naughty list Santa upgrade. This means that even with a low base CpS of 1, Grandmas can produce more cookies than other buildings such as Farms and Mines .

Increasing grandma level increases their CpS by 1% per level additively. Higher numbers of grandmas and a higher grandma level will allow more stockbrokers to be hired in the Stock Market mini-game in order to lower the overhead cost.

Miscellaneous FAQ

Where can i find help from other players.

If you need help from others, you can join the DashNet Forums Discord server, the official Discord server for Cookie Clicker and other DashNet games and seek help from an active community of players from both mobile and web/steam. or view a plethora of guides. You can also ask for help on the r/cookieclicker subreddit.

Is there an ending to Cookie Clicker?

No, there is no ending to Cookie Clicker. Some players consider the game completed after all achievements have been unlocked, although others play further after that, striving to bake more and more cookies.

Is using an autoclicker / using a planner / using mods / savescumming cheating?

Cookie Clicker is a singleplayer game and it should be played the way that allows the player to have the most fun. However, some of these are not allowed in certain leaderboards . If you are going for a leaderboard position, please check the leaderboard rules first to see whether your playstyle is considered accceptable.

Is using the debug menu to give myself infinity cookies cheating?

What's the difference between the game on web, steam and mobile.

The web and Steam versions are basically the same game with small differences. Steam includes music, features cloud saving, and its heralds are based on the number of players online (usually 100). Web lacks music, includes ads, and its heralds are locked at 41, but is free.

The android app has less content but is actively being worked on by Orteil who wishes to add all the content from web and Steam to the app. This wiki mainly focuses on content for the web and Steam versions of the game.

As of 2024, there is no Cookie Clicker iOS app by Orteil .

When is the next update?

No one knows. Since Orteil has confirmed that there will be no more buildings added, the next update could be a new minigame , possibly the long-awaited Dungeons .

GC ? FtHoF ? DO ASS CLGCF ?

These are commonly used community terms. See here for the full list of terms and what they mean.

When should I ascend/legacy for the first time?

Main article: Ascension

how to do research projects cookie clicker

It is reccommended to ascend for the first time when the number next to the Legacy button reaches 365 or above after having baked a total of 48.627 quintillion cookies. This will grant a +365% Prestige multiplier on the next run and 365 Heavenly Chips to spend on heavenly upgrades. To view which heavenly upgrades to buy and when to ascend during future ascensions, refer to the ascension guide .

What easy achievements can I get?

There are a handful of easy achievements, primarily in the miscellaneous category. Most of which can be done in the early game. Since achievements provide Milk that gives a CpS multiplier with Kitten upgrades, unlocking these will be beneficial to cookie production.

Easy Shadow Achievements

While these do not provide milk, and thus do not contribute towards CpS, here are some easy shadow achievements.

Icon Name Description How to Get
God complex Name yourself .
Note : usurpers incur a -1% CpS penalty until they rename themselves something else.
Click the bakery's name at the top of the Big Cookie, rename it to "Orteil", and press Confirmon the popup. There is also an easter egg where renaming the bakery to "Ortiel", a misspelling which Orteil particularly dislikes, will incurr a -2% CpS penalty instead of -1%, and does not unlock the achievement.
In her likeness Shape your clones to resemble grandmas.
Requires . Configure the clones to resemble . The prerequisite settings are Hair 10, Hair color 2 or 7, any Skin color, Head shape 3 or 4, and either Extra-A/B being 3 or 4, with the other being 1. Example import code: 9,1,1,3,7,3,0.
Note that if imported, the game does not perform the likeness check to see if the details match the achievement specifications, thus one aspect has to be changed manually in the editor itself.

0 - 1 billion cookies

What is milk and what does it do.

Milk pools at the bottom of the screen, increasing as achievements are unlocked. The Kitten upgrade line (starting at 9 million cookies) provides a boost to CpS based on the number of achievements unlocked. A new milk rank featuring a different flavour is unlocked every 25 achievements.

Should I buy this building or this upgrade ?

Generally, it is recommended to buy 15 of each building before going to the next one. To get a rough estimate on whether a building or an upgrade is worth the cost, hovering over a building will display the percentage of CpS it makes/boosts. Alternatively, mods like Cookie Monster or a website can be used to calculate the best possible purchase.

1 billion - 1 quadrillion cookies

What are sugar lumps .

Sugar lumps are a valuable currency in Cookie Clicker. They can be spent on leveling buildings to give a production boost to that building or to unlock a minigame . They can also be spent to trigger a special event on a minigame.

What is a minigame ?

Minigames are additional interactable elements in Cookie Clicker. As of now, 4 buildings each have an associated minigame although Orteil plans to add minigames to all 20 buildings.

The Farm 's minigame is the Garden , the Bank 's minigame is the Stock Market , the Temple 's minigame is the Pantheon and the Wizard Tower 's minigame is the Grimoire ,

Minigames can be unlocked by levelling its associated building to level 1 with a sugar lump. Further levelling up a minigame's associated building may boost it in some way.

How do I spend my sugar lumps?

Spend the first 4 sugar lumps on Wizard Towers, Temples, Farms and Banks in that order , leveling them each to level 1. This will unlock all 4 minigames.

Next, level Farms all the way to level 9 to unlock the max plot size for the Garden minigame.

After this, level Cursors to level 12 to fully upgrade the Stock Market office for max stock capacity and to unlock all 3 loans.

Once this is done, hoard 100 sugar lumps without spending them for a future heavenly upgrade.

Past this, you must refer to the full sugar lump spending guide . Through the course of gameplay, it may sometimes be beneficial to spend a lump to refill Grimoire mana during a combo and in even rarer cases spend a lump on the garden or pantheon.

The Grimoire is the Wizard Tower minigame and one of the most useful minigames. The Grimoire has 9 spells, the most important of which is the Force the Hand of Fate (FtHoF) spell that summons a golden cookie . This allows performing combos at will to gain a whole lot of cookies in a few seconds. For more information, see the section on combos below.

The Pantheon is the Temple minigame, allowing different spirits to be worshiped in three slots of varying effectiveness. The Pantheon can be used to optimise for playing idle (leaving the game in the background to generate cookies) or active (clicking golden cookies) playstyles. Setups for both can be found on the Pantheon article or the external Pantheon guide .

The Garden is the Farm minigame, allowing for the cultivation of a variety of plants that can give useful effects. The Garden is the most complicated minigame but can prove useful as the game progresses. For information on this minigame, see the Garden article, strategy page and external guide . The external guide has a step-by-step section to breed starter-level plants, especially useful to those new to the Garden.

Stock Market?

The Stock Market is the Bank minigame, allowing for the trading of stocks for cookie profit and taking out loans to boost production for a limited time. While the Stock Market may not be extremely profitable especially as combos become more and more powerful, it is the source of many achievements and its loans can prove useful in combos.

What are combos and how do I use them to gain lots of cookies fast?

A combo is the fastest way to get cookies in Cookie Clicker. It is performed by stacking two or more golden cookie effects at the same time. Combos involve 1 or more CpS buffs such as Frenzy and a Building Special (an effect that boosts CpS based on the number of a randomly selected building) and 1 or 2 click buffs such as Click Frenzy (an effect that boosts gains from clicking by 777x).

A combo is usually paired with temporarily CpS buffs. In the early game, players can use the Pantheon spirit Godzamok, which boosts clicking gains based on buildings sold, in the Diamond slot. During a combo, sell all buildings that make/boost less than 2% of the overall CpS to gain a large boost to clicking gains.

In most combos, a Click Frenzy is obtained from the Grimoire spell Force the Hand of Fate (FtHoF). Unlike natural golden cookies which have about 3% chance to give a Click Frenzy, FtHoF golden cookies have a 25% chance to give a Click Frenzy.

The simplest combo is a Frenzy + Click Frenzy. To accomplish this, simply get a Frenzy from regular golden cookies. Then, cast FtHoF and hope it gives a Click Frenzy. If it does, sell buildings to Godzamok before clicking as fast as possible.

For more information on combos, see the simple combo guide.

Why did my golden cookie display a strange message instead of giving me a buff?

On rare occasions, golden cookies result in a blab , displaying one of 38 messages. While this only has a ~0.003% chance of coming from a natural golden cookie, it has a significantly increased chance of coming from the Grimoire spell Force the Hand of Fate , with a 1.37% chance of coming from FtHoF golden cookies and a 10% chance of coming from FtHof wrath cookies.

1 quadrillion cookies - 48 quintillion cookies (first ascension)

What is the grandmapocalypse .

The Grandmapocalypse is an event in Cookie Clicker that primarily benefits the idle playstyle. It is triggered and advanced by certain research upgrades .

The Grandmapocalypse has two major effects on gameplay. Firstly, it replaces golden cookies with wrath cookies , a variant of golden cookies that are red. While wrath cookies can give negative effects, such as halving the CpS for a short amount of time or causing cookies from the bank to be lost, wrath cookies can also give special positive effects like the rare Elder Frenzy, multiplying the CpS by 666 for a very brief period of time. Secondly, it summons wrinklers around the Big Cookie , which leech away a portion of the CpS. Wrinklers can be popped, causing each one to explode into the number of cookies they collectively leeched, plus an extra 10%.

How do I start the Grandmapocalypse?

The Grandmapocalypse is triggered and advanced by certain research upgrades . To start, you should have the "Elder" achievement for owning 7 Grandma types (the seventh one being Cosmic grandmas requiring 15 Shipments and costing 255 billion cookies). This will unlock the Bingo center/Research facility upgrade for 1 quadrillion cookies. Purchasing this will begin the research upgrades.

Each research upgrade takes 30 minutes to unlock, the timer starting once the previous one has been purchased. Research upgrades are useful as they benefit your CpS and Grandma production. There are three research upgrades that advance the Grandmapocalypse. The first is One mind, the fifth research upgrade, starting the Grandmapocalypse at Stage 1. The second is Communal brainsweep, the seventh research upgrade, advancing the Grandmapocalypse to Stage 2. The third is Elder Pact, the ninth and last research upgrade, advancing the Grandmapocalypse to the final Stage 3. The costs of research upgrades start at 1 quadrillion and subsequently double in price, with Elder Pact costing 256 quadrillion.

The Grandmapocalypse has a greater effect the higher the stage at you are at. At Stage 1, 33% of the golden cookies are replaced with wrath cookies and wrinklers appear at a slow pace. At Stage 2, 66% of the golden cookies are replaced with wrath cookies and wrinklers appear twice as fast. At Stage 3, all golden cookies are replaced with wrath cookies and wrinklers appear 3 times faster than they did in Stage 1.

Should I start the Grandmapocalypse / Should I buy all the research upgrades?

Completing all the research upgrades has advantages to both idle and active players. The research upgrades in total provide a ~16% CpS multiplier in addition to the boosts to Grandma production, and the Grandmapocalypse unlocks numerous achievements .

After completing all research upgrades and unlocking Elder Pledge , it is recommended for active players to use Elder Pledge to disable the Grandmapocalypse. This will bring back golden cookies, allowing players to perform combos. Idle players, on the other hand, should leave the Grandmapocalypse active. Idle players can benefit from wrinklers by leaving them for a long time and then popping them if one needs a large amount of cookies to make a big purchase. As wrinklers, when popped, give more cookies than they leeched, having all 10 wrinklers feeding on the Big Cookie results in a net CpS multiplier of 6x. While this is extremely powerful to idle players, this is not worth it for active players as having the Grandmapocalypse enabled makes combos much harder as wrath cookies spawn instead of golden cookies, outweighing the benefits that the Grandmapocalypse provides.

Should I use Elder Pledge or Elder Covenant if I want to disable the Grandmapocalypse?

Elder Pledge is generally recommended for disabling the Grandmapocalypse. While its cost multiplies every time it is used, it cannot go above 4.4 trillion cookies, meaning the cost of using it is always insignificant. Its duration is insignificant, because if a player is away long enough such that Elder Pledge runs out and the Grandmapocalypse is enabled again, it would be a positive as the player would be idle. Elder Covenant gives the player a 5% CpS debuff, making it not worth it except if the player wants to disable the Grandmapocalypse overnight to remove the chances of getting a meaty sugar lump .

I've ascended, what now?

Check here to see which heavenly upgrades to buy.

48 quintillion cookies (first ascension) - 420 novemdecillion cookies (all heavenly upgrades)

Why is the game so fast now.

Due to the buffs from heavenly upgrades, prestige, and achievements, cookie production increases exponentially.

I overshot my ascension goal, what do I do?

If you manage to get more cookies than your o or ascension requires in the ascension guide , you can spend your extra heavenly chips on the next ascension’s upgrades.

What Garden / Pantheon / Krumblor setup should I use?

The best mutation and beneficial (e.g. boosting CpS, golden cookie frequency) setups for the Garden can be found in the Garden Strategies page. Useful Pantheon setups for different playstyles can be found in the Pantheon page . A list for the uses and strategies for all Krumblor auras can be found on the Krumblor page .

How do I get achievements like Speed baking 3, True Neverclick and Hardcore without wiping my save?

To get these achievements, you will need to activate the “Born again” challenge mode in the ascension menu. This will start an ascension with no benefits from prestige or heavenly upgrades, in which you can attempt these achievements. You will get these benefits back on your next ascension.

Why do Cursors make more than 90% of my CpS?

During midgame, a combination of the heavenly upgrade Unshackled cursors and the synergy upgrade Mice clicking mice will boost cursors to become a very powerful building. As you progress further though, other buildings will begin to outclass Cursors.

I leveled a building up, but my CpS went down!

This is due to the fact that you have the heavenly upgrade Sugar baking unlocked, which boosts your CpS by 1% for every sugar lump you have up to 100. Generally, after leveling Banks, Temples and Wizard towers to level 1, Farms to level 9 and Cursors to level 12, you should hoard 100 lumps without spending them. A full sugar lump spending guide can be found here .

How do I get lucky payout / I'm missing one or two heavenly upgrades and I can't find them in the ascension tree!

These upgrades require your total prestige level to contain a certain amount of 7s (e.g. a prestige level of 8 7 8, 77 6, 7 25 would unlock all 3 upgrades). Remember to turn off "Short Numbers" in the options to see the last few digits of the prestige level.
