Sarkaru Vaari Paata Review: Formulaic Narrative

Mahesh Babu's "Sarkaru Vaari Paata" is another Telugu biggie that has generated huge hype post-pandemic. Irrespective of the director, Mahesh Babu's movies create a lot of interest. "Geetha Govindam" director Parasuram has successfully presented Mahesh Babu in a new avatar. It was evident in the trailer. The trailer was a roaring success.

Let's find out whether the film lives up to the expectations.

Story: Mahi (Mahesh Babu), a private money lender in the USA, gives 10k dollars to the studious Kalaavathi (Keerthy Suresh) for her college fees, only to realize that she duped him. To recover the money from her father, he rushes to India. Her father turns out to be a businessman named Rajendra Nath (Samuthirakani) in the Vizag region, Mahi's hometown. Rajendra Nath also happens to be a person who owes Rs 10000 crores to banks.

The rest of the movie is all about Mahi fighting for a bigger social cause?

Artistes' Performances: Mahesh Babu carries the movie on his shoulders and tries to lift it when the graph goes down. With his histrionics and dialogues, Mahesh Babu has provided the required mojo. He looks stylish as well. Mahesh Babu's star power and his comic timing are the main strength of this film.

Keerthy Suresh does her best in the first half. The scenes between Mahesh Babu and Keerthy are hilarious in the beginning. But she hardly appears in the second half, and when she does for a moment, she gets a cringe sequence.

Samuthirakani, who wowed with his villainy act in 'Krack' and 'AVPL', doesn't create much impact due to a weak character.

Vennela Kishore as Mahesh Babu's friend is okay. Subbaraju gets a formulaic character. Nadiya's role is hardly worth mentioning.

Technical Excellence: Thaman and R Madhie are the main pillars among the technicians. "Kalavaathi" and "Ma Ma Mahesha" stand out in Thaman's compositions. Madhie's camerawork has brought luminous texture.

Analysis: It has been a long time since Mahesh Babu played a role with a comic touch. "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", director Parasuram's first film with the superstar, puts him in this zone. Perhaps Mahesh Babu understood quite well that Parasuram had written a formulaic script that he needs to take charge of. He has put in the extra effort with his comic timing and histrionics to hold the movie.

After beginning the film with the hero's childhood episodes and establishing the reason for the hero becoming a money lender, the story cuts to a fun and entertaining romantic track.

For close to one hour, Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh's sequences take place including the 'Kalavaathi' song. Remember that there are only two songs in the first half, and the rest of the drama completely relies on Keerthy Suresh and Mahesh Babu's love track.

"Sarkaru Vaari Paata" has a topical issue - loan defaults and bank scams. The bank officials seize the assets of the poor and the middle-class customers if they miss their EMIs. But they dare not touch the businessmen and the willful defaulters. The topic is relevant. And Parasuram has tried to give a commercial touch to this issue. The writer-director has chosen a tried and tested formula for commercial movies.

Parasuram is good at narrating films with a dose of entertainment. His mark is visible in the initial portions, but proved to be a let down in second half.

The beginning of the film, the interval, and the climax are linked smartly. But he faltered in the crucial part of the final sequences. The director has taken too many cinematic liberties as well.

Director managed to keep the film largely entertaining, even during the slightly sluggish second half there are moments that hold the film tight.

For a story dealing with bank loans and financial scams, it needed a far more convincing narrative. The forced comedy track involving Mahesh Babu, Subbaraju, and Keerthy Suresh in the second half is another black spot in the film.

The film lacks the required drama and emotional force in the penultimate sequences. Tanikella Bharani’s loan issue and Nadiya’s story don’t make us feel emotional.

Overall, “Sarkaru Vaari Paata” is a regular commercial movie made on a topical issue. The film entirely relies on Mahesh Babu’s star power and charisma and the superstar gives his best to hold the show. It is a typical mass entertainer with a mixed bag.

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s next outing ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ is all set for a grand theatrical release Today May 11th. The trailer wasa feast for the fans and audience. ‘You can steal my love, you can steal my friendship but you cannot steal my money’ defines the characterization of Mahesh Babu in ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ movie. The entire film bets big on the characterization of Mahesh Babu. Sarkaru Vaari Paata also promises sensible entertainment. Here is the Telugu360 Review :

Mahesh runs a private lending company in USA. Keerthy Suresh, a casino addict, lies about her background and takes a cash loan from Mahesh. Realizing he has been duped, Mahesh Babu rushes to India to collect the debt from her father Rajendranath (Samudrakhani). In India, Mahesh takes up an even bigger cause and fights for the middle-class people. What can fictionally happen when people are made aware of the backstage politics involved in financial scandals – the rest of the story tries to showcase this.

Movie opens with the backstory of Mahesh Babu’s character. We see him orphaned at a young age when his middle-class parents commit suicide, unable to repay the bank loans. Fast forward 15 years, Mahesh is now the head of a financial company specializing in hand loans. Keerthy Suresh’s character is that of a spoiled brat, addicted to gambling. She approaches Mahesh for a loan, posing as an overtly studious student in need of money. Very quickly her con game is revealed, and even though the idea of spending thousands on travel just to collect some money is unconvincing, that’s exactly what Mahesh does when he travels all the way to India, to collect his money from her father.

The first half of the movie is entertaining enough with Mahesh Babu’s trademark comical timing. The second half has a very flat narration and is so very preachy. In his inability to come up with a proper story or exciting scenes, the director depends very heavily on Mahesh Babu’s strength to keep the movie rolling.

The two songs ‘Penny penny ‘and ‘ Kalavathy ‘ in the first half, and the last song ‘Ma Ma Mahesha ‘ in the second half could have been shot well. All the songs work out well with the fans of Mahesh. This is his best to date with styling in the songs.

Thaman’s background score is surprisingly not to his usual standards. The cinematography by R.Madhie is very good. The fights are not up to the mark. The first half beach fight VFX work is sub-standard. With Mythri Movie makers, 14 Reels Plus, and GMB coming together to make this film, the production values could have been better.

SVP is a commercial movie that has good first half, and a very flat narration in the second half. Mahesh babu’s One-man show in comedy, Good songs rescue this film. Story and direction wise this film could’ve been way better. Overall, A typical telugu film watchable for MaheshBabu !

One of the biggest stars of Telugu cinema, Mahesh Babu is coming to theaters today with his Sarkaaru Vaari Paata, directed by Parasuram Petla. Superstar Mahesh Babu missed a release last year while his previous release was Sarileru Neekevvaru in 2020.

Sarkaaru Vaari Paata already started registering big numbers at the box office with the pre-release business overseas. With Keerthy Suresh as the female lead and music direction by Thaman, Sarkaaru Vaari Paata garnered big expectations with the trailer giving us some super mass dialogues and action scenes. Let us walk through the review.

What Is It About?

Mahesh (Mahesh Babu) owns a finance business in the USA. Kalavathi (Keerthy Suresh) cheats him with the hand loan. Mahesh comes to Vizag to recover the debt from her father Rajendranath (Samuthirakani) an influential politician but asks for not what she owes him, but a shockingly huge amount. Why does Mahesh demand such a big amount to pay him back and what’s the real story behind it? The answer to these questions is the story of Sarkaaru Vaari Paata.

Performances

Mahesh Babu takes over everything and everybody with his presence whenever he is in the frame. He looked his best compared to that in his recent films. The fun dialogues and his timing are enthralling. Mahesh Babu did his part and tried to pull off to the shore, but the weak narrative doesn’t cooperate with him.

Keerthy Suresh’s role is mostly passive and not satisfactory. Though she looked her best in all the films she acted in so far, her character is boring. Only the fun part between Mahesh Babu and her worked well in the first half, mostly due to Mahesh’s timing. Her part in the second half is mostly passive and boring.

Vennela Kishore stays around Mahesh Babu in the first half and the conversations between them are funny and entertaining. Samuthirakani’s role is monotonous as an influential baddie. Subbaraju, Tanikella Bharani, and others are alright in their roles. Nadhiya appears in a short yet important role.

Technicalities

The first half mostly was shot in the US and it has all the rich colors and attractive frames. Sarkaaru Vaari Paata has rich production values and the amount spent well on it could be seen on screen.

The story itself is unrealistic and preachy at times. The screenplay could have been better. The theme and the characters are consistent but the plot deviates to the unrealistic route.

The songs Penny and Kalavathi are good to watch. The highly anticipated mass song Ma Ma Mahesha is disappointing and not as per expectations. The background music and theme sound are good.

Weak & Uneven Narrative Second Half Preachy Dialogues

In the last few years, we have seen umpteen films bringing the topic of rich Indian businessmen fleeing the country after they are asked to repay their debts to national banks. Sarkaaru Vaari Paata just doesn’t mention it, but the whole movie is based on those incidents.

Director Parasuram convinced Mahesh Babu with the contemporary topic that involved government and banks but failed to execute it in a possibly realistic narration. There is no solution to that real problem so far, but Parasuram’s approach to public revolution and agitation is unconvincing.

First things first, Mahesh Babu managed to pull off the first half with ease and he entertains the audience with his funny dialogues and also action blocks. The chemistry between him and Keerthy Suresh worked and the credit has to be given to Mahesh Babu’s wit and satire. The entertaining part ends with the interval and the second half makes more turns only to leave the audience with preaching and boring episodes.

The interval block gives a twist of Mahesh demanding a huge amount from Samuthirakani. It can be understood that Mahesh has come all the way to Vizag for recovering his debt and to satisfy his ego, but it is illogical when he takes up an issue between banks and an arrogant politician and finally wins.

Though the logic misses in Bank scenes, Mahesh ramming into everything with his lorry towards the politician’s house is highly intense and electrifying.

There are very few fun parts in the second half like Mahesh imitating Subbaraju in a Vizag accent, asking for coffee, and a lot of boring episodes like the silly awkward romance between Mahesh and Keerthy Suresh. Also Subbaraju’s ringtone ‘La La Bheemla’ brings a few laughs. The arrogant and angry heroine turning into a good-natured woman all of a sudden, just after the forced romance is one of those very boring scenes.

There are scenes where Mahesh beats the recovery agents from the bank and brings on an agitation against the banks. Well, it sounds like a self-satire when he kicks the recovery agents, as he did the same recovery in the US and even came to India for the same reason. In the climax too, the villain forcing and kidnapping people in the city to repay the loans is upright silly, and senseless.

Most of Mahesh’s recent films are serious dramas with a lot of preaching and messages. In Sarkaaru Vaari Paata too, Mahesh attempts to give a message while he convinces the highly influential politician Rajendranath to repay the loan. After Mahesh Babu reminded the ‘baadhyata’ in the last few films including Sarkaaru Vaari Paata, the full-on ‘entertainment debt’ owed by Vintage Mahesh to the audience is not paid yet.

Overall, Sarkaaru Vaaru Paata is Mahesh Babu’s show altogether with the main plot missing the logic and reality. With a passable first half and poor second half, Sarkaaru Vaari Paata is a disappointing ‘bid’. While the openings are huge, it has to be seen how the Mahesh Babu-starrer manages to pull the audiences to theaters hereafter.

Bottom line: A Bad Debt

Sarkaru Vaari Paata First Review Out: Mahesh Babu's Film All Set For A Thumping Box Office Roar

Just two days away from the release of Superstar Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata, we got to hear the first review of the film, which is helmed by Parasuram Petla. The movie is said to be a treat for the fans of Superstar, who was showcased in a mass avatar and delivered a power-packed performance.

Needless to say, Mahesh Babu, who is a director's actor, had poured out his might for the character he portrayed in Sarkaru Vaari Paata . On the other hand, it is heard that Keerthy Suresh too has delivered a commendable job as Kalavathi, adding grace and charm to her role.

But its biggest USP is, without doubt, Mahesh Babu. He carries the film on his broad and brawny shoulders and that alone is the imperative reason for watching this film. Expect a hurricane called Sarkaru Vaari Paata to strike at the box office."

He also noted that Mahesh Babu has rendered a career-best performance in recent times and fans are sure to lap this knockout performance in a big way. Well, looks like a powerful mass blockbuster is on its way.

The movie was produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with 14 Reels Plus, and G Mahesh Babu Entertainments. The film was certified with a UA certificate and has music by SS Thaman. The film is slated for a worldwide release on May 12. Sarkaru Vaari Paata releasing around 2100 theatres world wide with 1200 screens in telugu states.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata Movie Review News Highlights: Mahesh Babu ‘s much-awaited Sarkaru Vaari Paata out in theatres. The film marks Mahesh’s first collaboration with director Parasuram. Sarkaru Vaari Paata also marks the actor’s first film with Keerthy Suresh. Heaping praise on his co-star, Mahesh said Keerthy’s performance is “extraordinary” in the film.

In an interview, Mahesh called himself a fan of Parasuram’s Geetha Govindam. However, he said he did not immediately agree to do Sarkaru Vaari Paata. “I didn’t immediately say yes to it. After three months, I asked him to narrate the script again. By then, he developed it further. I really liked that about him. His ambition to do a film with me was so strong that he was still working on the idea. He narrated it for over an hour. The script was terrific. I messaged him that he has to give me a blockbuster and informed him that I am on board.”

Talking about his character, Mahesh Babu said his role in Sarkaru Vaari Paata will have shades of Pokiri. The 2006 Puri Jagannadh directorial is one of the biggest hits of Mahesh. “We can find shades of Pokiri in SVP. There was a mass feeling and euphoria in the theater for Pokiri. I got an opportunity to play such an energetic character once again in Sarkaru Vaari Paata,” he said.

Parasuram also expressed how Mahesh liked his character as much as the story. “The film is a complete commercial entertainer. The presentation of Mahesh in the movie is fresh,” the director said.

Mahesh Babu said last week that he doesn't want to do Hindi films as Bollywood 'couldn't afford' him. Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar are the power couple of Tollywood. But apart from being partners, Mahesh said Namrata is also his "best friend”.

Mahesh Babu, who has had several hits and flops, recently commented on how he handles failures. "I take it on the chin," he said in response to a fan.

Keerthy Suresh, who will be seen sharing screen space with Mahesh Babu in Sarkaru Vaari Paata, is excited for the release of the film. Stating that the movie will create "rampage" in theatres, Keerthy tweeted, "Gear up to witness @urstrulymahesh sir's power-packed performance."

Mahesh Babu is all praise for his daughter Sitara. The 'proud' father said she is also the smartest in the family.

Mahesh Babu heaped praise on director Parasuram. During an AMA session on Instagram, he revealed that the director "is a phenomenal writer”.

Mahesh Babu's daughter Sitara made her screen debut with Sarkaru Vaari Paata song “Penny”. When a fan asked if Sitara has any plans of becoming an actor, Mahesh replied, "She is already an actress."

Director Parasuram said he is "confident" about Sarkaru Vaari Paata. He added that it is a film for every cinema lover and a treat for Mahesh Babu fans.

Mahesh Babu has been heaping praise on director Parasuram for the way he sketched his character in Sarkaru Vaari Paata. In his latest Ask Me Anything session on Instagram, the actor said "the characterisation of the hero" is his favourite thing about the film. He also assured it will become his fans' favourite.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata was initially scheduled to release on January 13, 2022 but was postponed due to the pandemic and production delays. The music of the film is composed by Thaman. The film marks Thaman's fourth collaboration with Mahesh Babu after Aagadu, Businessman and Dookudu.

After Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Mahesh Babu has a film with Trivikram and SS Rajamouli in the pipeline.

Mahesh (Mahesh Babu) becomes orphan when he was a kid after his parents commit suicide for failing to pay EMIs for a loan. Mahesh makes his way to the USA and starts a micro-finance company in Miami. He is very strict about money and doesn’t leave a penny out. A spoilt brat Kalavathi (Keerthy Suresh) is a regular at Hardrock Casino in Miami and splurges money over there. She keeps lending money from loan sharks. To get away from it, she acts as a studious/innocent girl to get a loan of $10,000 from Mahesh. He falls in love with her and keeps giving her money only to realize later that she is cheating him. He demands money back, but she says no. Then, he visits Vizag where her father is a huge business magnet. Rest of the story is all about how he collects the money owed to him and much more.
It's been a while since Mahesh Babu did a masala film. He has been trying to do message oriented films since Srimanthudu as it worked for him. His last such full-length message oriented film was Maharshi. He has added entertainment in Sarileru Neekevvaru and it became a blockbuster. In SVP, has added some more ingredients which his fans have been missing for years. He is completely energetic in the film. For the past half a decade, he has been doing roles which require subtleness. This film has a hyper-active Mahesh Babu in the first half. He has changed his modulation in a few scenes. Mahesh will be liked by everybody in this film because he has put in conscious effort to make a difference. He is very energetic in songs too, especially Kalavathi. Though he said there are no message in SVP, this film is another message oriented film. Hopefully, SVP is his last message oriented film in the next few years.

It’s an entertaining role for Keerthi Suresh which she has done with a lot of flair. It’s a kind of difficult role for any heroine as she makes a fool out of the hero in the first half. It needs a heroine with some stature to do this character. This role is a cakewalk for Samuthirakani. Vennela Kishore is highly entertaining in the love episode scenes in the first half. His sophistication has matched that of Mahesh Babu to get the comedy right. Nadhia is good in a limited, yet important role. Brahmaji is very effective in a vital episode of the film. Tanikella Bharani gets a sympathetic role and does it excellently. Subbaraju is good. Ravi Prakash is good as a sincere bank employee. Nagababu and Posani Krishna Murali are fine.

The core subject of the film is about the banking system. It’s a universal topic and every one of us takes loans from the banks and pays EMIs. Parasuram is mostly known for writing entertaining dialogues and different hero characterization. Most of Parasuram films are about generalizations. It’s a risky task for him to attempt such a universal social issue on a big canvas. Director Shankar takes up subjects like these. Parasuram excelled in the entertainment aspect of the film. The love story in the first half is well handled. We had seen innumerable films of heroines drooling over Mahesh Babu and he treating them like nobody in the past. First the first time, we see a heroine doing bakra out of Mahesh Babu. This angle is unique and it works. Parasuram is also known for writing good hero characterization and creating nice mannerisms like Puri Jagan. Parasuram has also succeeded in showing Mahesh Babu in a new light in SVP. Though the main subject is a powerful one, Parasuram falters in executing it without flaws. Banking and finances are subjects that need a deep understanding of economics. He has generalized it. Though it might appeal to masses, some scenes in the second half look logicless. A couple of emotional scenes in the 2nd half are handled well (getting notice from the bank and explaining how banks rob common people). Villain character looks more stupid than villianous. He has connected the last scene well to make the whole second half look justified/relevant. Two songs (Kalavathi & Ma Ma Mahesha) scored by Thaman are chartbusters and are a treat to watch on the screen. He has set his reputation for background music so high that his work in this movie appears a little underwhelming. Cinematography by R Madhi is very good. The color grading for the film is bright. Only exception is the Ma Ma Mahesha song where all colors are presented in this song to the fullest. The Dialogue written by Parasuram is good. There should have been more emotion added to the action sequences. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is fine. Production design is okay. Production values by Mythri banner are grand.

The first half of the film is entertaining with a twist at the interval. The second half dwells into the core story of the film. It’s about how the banking industry failed in loans and NPA section. Such a subject needs a lot of depth. Director Parasuram chooses to generalize it so that basic idea can be conveyed easily to the masses. Plus points are an energetic Mahesh Babu, love story, core story idea and emotional scenes in the 2nd half. On the flipside, the second half should have been handled convincingly. On the whole, Sarkaru Vaari Paata is a film that works on Mahesh Babu’s charisma and the core identifiable story idea.

‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ movie review: It’s a formulaic thing!

This mahesh babu, keerthy suresh film gets weighed down by an overdrawn later half .

The story of director Parasuram’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata rides on the line that money makes the world go round. Nearly all the principal characters fall on either side of the divide — those who toil to repay their small loans and are pushed to the brink, and those who do not repay thousands of crores to the banks. Through the 162-minute narrative, Mahi (Mahesh Babu) asks why ordinary people should be harassed to repay loans of ₹10-15,000 when a business tycoon can get away without repaying ₹10,000 crore.

The thought is hammered through a narrative that is entertaining at first, even though familiar and formulaic, but eventually gets preachy and overdrawn. Parasuram tailors each scene to befit the superstar image of the lead actor. Take the introduction scene for instance, where Mahesh says the now famous line, ‘you can steal my love, you can steal my friendship, but you cannot steal my money’. He bashes up thugs in the US while stating that for every blow he receives, he will return 72 (because 1$=72 rupees).

Had Mahi not been enacted by an actor with a superstar image, one would ask questions such as how he established a finance company in the US and what his credentials are. Instead, we hold on to the little information that the plotline discloses — that a boy whose parents took their own lives when unable to repay a bank loan, understands the power of those who lend as opposed to those who receive.

The Miami portions are the most entertaining part of the film, again, if you do not raise questions — such as if Kalavathi (Keerthy Suresh) is so silly as to toss her ID cards and passport to random people from whom she borrows money. Kalavathi is a glamorous hoodwinker and Mahi is so besotted that his otherwise sharp nose for money takes a backseat.

‘It’s a boy thing!’ he tells Kalavathi after trailing her to a university in Miami. As expected, the line elicits cheers. It goes with the mood of the romance track that works because of the timing between Mahesh, Vennela Kishore (as his colleague) and Keerthy. You can either be dumbfounded at the silliness of it all, like how Kishore watches in disbelief or give in to the laughs. It also helps to not ask why Kalavathi stays in debt when just one phone call to her dad (in Visakhapatnam) can bring a helicopter and gunmen to her rescue within seconds in Miami.

The first half rolls by with scenes and song sequences that capitalise on Mahesh’s boyish looks and the charming female lead. Thaman’s background music and the catchy ‘Penny’ and ‘Kalavathi’ songs establish the momentum. Credit also goes to choreographer Shekhar and cinematographer R Madhi for handling these portions well.

The initial confrontations between Mahi and Rajendranath (Samuthirakani) in Vizag, have some spark. But once the battle lines are drawn and the issue of a huge bank loan repayment is highlighted, the rest of it hurtles towards a tiresome battle of wits.

As Mahi repeatedly harps on the impact of loans on different sections of society, though well-intended, it gets boring. Mahi either sermonises or slaps people, from Brahmaji to Keerthy, to make them see things differently. Smarter writing would have certainly helped.

Tanikella Bharani, Nadiya, Geetha Bhasker and several others crop up but ultimately, it’s Mahesh Babu’s show that leaves no room for others. Only Vennela Kishore manages to steal some attention with his perfectly-timed expressions, even though he speaks less. Samuthirakani’s characterisation, too, offers nothing innovative.

It’s high time Mahesh looks beyond stories that have him returning from the United States to India on a mission, invariably delivering social messages and in turn saving people, the State or the country.

హీరో ఇంట్రడక్షన్ ఫైట్, హీరోయిన్‌తో సన్నివేశాలు, 'కళావతి...' పాట - ఫ‌స్టాఫ్‌లో ఫ్యాన్స్‌ను ఆకట్టుకునే అంశాలు ఉన్నాయి. దాంతో ఎటువంటి కంప్లయింట్స్ ఉండవు. సెకండాఫ్‌లో అసలు కథ మొదలవుతుంది. అప్పటి నుంచి కథనం, దర్శకత్వం గాడి తప్పాయి. అప్పటి వరకూ లాజిక్కులు పక్కన పెట్టి తెరపై మహేష్, కీర్తీ మేజిక్‌ను ఎంజాయ్ చేసిన ప్రేక్షకులు... మళ్ళీ అటువంటి మేజిక్ కోసం ఎదురు చూసే పరిస్థితి. సెకండాఫ్‌లో మహేష్, కీర్తీ సురేష్, సుబ్బరాజ్ సీన్స్ కూడా ఆ మేజిక్ రిపీట్ చేయలేకపోయాయి. పైగా, ఎబ్బెట్టుగా ఉన్నాయి. అప్పుల బాధ్య తాళలేక, బ్యాంకు లోన్లు కట్టలేక ఆత్మహత్యలకు పాల్పడిన సామాన్యుల వేదన, భావోద్వేగాలను తెరపైకి సరిగా ఆవిష్కరించడంలో పరశురామ్ పూర్తిగా తడబడ్డారు. ఆ భావోద్వేగాలతో ప్రేక్షకులు ప్రయాణించేలా సినిమా తీసుంటే ఫలితం మరోలా ఉండేది. అయితే, బ్యాంకింగ్ వ్యవస్థలో లోపాలు, బ్యాంకు ఉద్యోగుల పనితీరు వివరించే సన్నివేశాలు బావున్నాయి.

'కళావతి...', 'మ మ మహేశా...' పాటలు ఆల్రెడీ ఆడియన్స్‌ను ఆకట్టుకున్నాయి. ఆ రెండూ స్క్రీన్ మీద కూడా బావున్నాయి. అయితే, 'పెన్నీ' సాంగ్ ఆశించిన స్థాయిలో లేదు. పాటల పరంగా తమన్ సూపర్బ్ మ్యూజిక్ ఇచ్చారు. నేపథ్య సంగీతంలో ఆయన నిరాశ పరిచారని చెప్పాలి. నటీనటుల విషయానికి వస్తే... మహేష్ బాబు హ్యాండ్సమ్‌గా కనిపించారు. లుక్స్, స్టయిల్స్, హెయిర్ స్టయిలింగ్ పరంగా రీసెంట్ టైమ్స్‌లో మహేష్ బెస్ట్ వెర్షన్ అని చెప్పవచ్చు. నటనలోనూ ఆ అందం కనిపించింది. కీర్తీ సురేష్‌తో ప్రేమలో పడే సన్నివేశాల్లో కుర్రాడు అయిపోయారు. ఫైట్స్ బాగా చేశారు. 'మ మ మహేశా...' పాటలో హుషారుగా డ్యాన్సులు చేశారు. డైలాగ్ డెలివరీలో కొత్త మాడ్యులేషన్ చూపించారు. మొత్తం మీద మహేష్ బాబు కొత్తగా కనిపించారు. కీర్తీ సురేష్ కూడా అంతే! నటనతోనూ, గ్లామర్‌తోనూ ఆకట్టుకుంటారు. సాంగ్స్‌లో మరింత అందంగా ఉన్నారు. ఇద్దరి మధ్య కెమిస్ట్రీ బావుంది. 'వెన్నెల' కిశోర్, మహేష్ మధ్య మంచి సన్నివేశాలు ఉన్నాయి. మహేష్, కిశోర్ కామెడీ టైమింగ్ కుదిరింది. విలన్‌గా సముద్రఖని, కీలక పాత్రల్లో నదియా, తనికెళ్ళ భరణి, సుబ్బరాజు తదితరులు కనిపించారు.

Mahesh Babu stunned all and sundry turning into the muse for Shane Peacock's magazine! He looked amazing in all the modish avatars! Well, Rahul and Ashok Galla dropped the review of the SVP movie and praised the whole team!

It is all known that Tollywood's ace actor Mahesh Babu 's Sarkaru Vaari Paata is released today in the theatres worldwide… All his fans are excited and the movie also bagged a positive talk going with record-breaking first day collections. Off late, another Tollywood actor Rahul dropped his review after watching the movie on his Twitter page and praised the whole team of SVP…

Coming to the details of the Sarkaru Vaari Paata movie, it is helmed by Parasuram and is jointly bankrolled by Mahesh Babu under his home banner GMB Entertainment in association with Mythri Movie Makers along with 14 Reels Plus banners. Mahanati fame Keerthy Suresh is the lead actress of this movie while Vennela Kishore and Subbaraju are roped in to play pivotal roles in the film. S S Thaman scored the songs for this movie while PS Vinod is handled the cinematography section. The editing section is handled by Marthand K Venkatesh. After seven long years Mahesh and SS Thaman are uniting once again with this movie.

Well, Mahesh Babu for the first time turned the face for the cover page of ace fashioners Falguni and Shane Peacock's magazine! He looked amazing and treated all his fans with complete modish looks!

Mahesh opted to go with a black suit and printed grey shirt and stylishly sat on the car with the background of lightening skyscrapers.

On this occasion, Mahesh spoke about his child actor experience and said, "My debut experience as a child actor was seamless and fun. I was very young, I guess about eight-nine years old and the shoot was in Ooty. I was asked if I would like to act in a film and I said 'why not'. So, I went to the location but I wasn't tensed about it because my father was the director of the film. What unfolded was a beautiful experience that I vividly remember. It was amazing. I didn't feel that there was a camera and I had to act. I credit all of this to my father".

He also spoke about SS Rajamouli and said, "I can't pinpoint one thing exactly but what I love about the action genre is the heroism, the stunts, the massive scale of production amongst many other things, that when you watch it on the screen you get goosebumps. So, everything that goes into making a power-packed action film is what lures me to it. Especially, these days with SS Rajamouli taking the genre on an altogether new level. It makes me immensely proud that I'm a part of a film fraternity where such films are being made. It's a very exciting phase to be in, where my favourite genre is coming into focus like never before".

Mahesh Babu starrer Sarkaru Vaari Paata has been released. While it was one of the most-anticipated movies, its release has only left netizens disappointed. Hours after the film hit theatres, ‘Disaster SVP’ started trending on Twitter. Netizens are calling it a ‘complete waste’ and ‘worst movie’. “Genuine review: #SarkaaruVaariPaata Please don’t care about what other fans are spreading, Genuinely movie is a disaster,” one of the netizens wrote.

Some of the social media users also talked about how the film is badly executed with not even a single interesting scene. “Poor 1st half, with old flat story, not even a single scene interesting. Worst 2nd Half, it’s not a Mahesh film, Weak Bgm by Thaman, Overall Flop,” one of the Tweets read. Flop, disappointing and disastrous were some of the other words with which netizens have been describing Sarkaru Vaari Paata.

‘The Watchers’ Review: Now They See You

The folk-horror genre welcomes a young new voice in the director Ishana Night Shyamalan, but she’s singing a familiar old tune.

Seeing the name Shyamalan on a movie trailer leads to certain expectations: plot twists, incremental reveals that change the nature of reality, foreboding supernatural vibe. Check, check and check with “The Watchers” — even though in this case the filmmaker isn’t M. Night Shyamalan, of “The Sixth Sense” and “Split” fame, but his daughter Ishana .

After making her debut as a director on “Servant, an Apple TV+ series Ishana has moved on to features with this folk-horror tale about a troubled young woman, Mina (Dakota Fanning, fresh from a big turn in the Netflix series “Ripley” ), who finds herself stranded when her car breaks down in foreboding Irish woods while she was ferrying a parrot (you read that right) from Galway to Belfast.

Ishana is 24, and “The Watchers” shows that she truly is Jung at heart: At times the movie feels as if an eager undergraduate patched it together from the greatest hits of the Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Jung, most notably the forest as both physical and psychological place, the mirror as revelator and the presence of the double.

Fine, so this is a lofty way to say that the film is a little bit frightening and a big bit comically grandiose.

As dusk sets in, Mina is rescued from the forest’s terrifying noises and encroaching shadows by Madeline (Olwen Fouere), Ciara (Georgina Campbell) and Daniel (Oliver Finnegan), who live in a Brutalist house where an entire wall is a one-way mirror. This is so that every night, mysterious creatures called the Watchers can observe those who are, in effect, their prisoners; as Madeline tells Mina, whoever goes out after sunset dies. Fleeing at dawn isn’t an option because there is no escape from the forest within a day’s walk.

Today, there are thousands of Generative AI (GenAI) tools available on the market with dozens of new AI applications being launched every month. The truth is, more than half of your employees are likely already using it to increase productivity at work, and that adoption is expected to grow as more AI apps become available for more use cases.

The problem is that most of these third-party GenAI apps have not been vetted or approved for use at work, which exposes companies to serious risks. There’s a reason IT and InfoSec teams vet and approve third-party applications being used within their company’s ecosystem of technologies—they need to understand what apps are being used, whether they are safe, and what sensitive company data, if any, is making its way into these applications. They also consider (among many other things) how the app developer handles issues like vulnerabilities and what controls are in place to limit or control access to only what is needed for employees to do their jobs.

The adoption of unsanctioned GenAI applications can lead to a broad range of cybersecurity issues, from data leakage to malware. That’s because your company doesn't know who is using what apps, what sensitive information is going into them, and what’s happening to that information once it’s there. And because not all applications are built to suitable enterprise standards for security, they can also serve malicious links and act as entryways for attackers to infiltrate a company’s network—giving them access to your systems and data. All of these issues can lead to regulatory compliance violations, sensitive data exposure, IP theft, operational disruption and financial losses. While these apps provide enormous productivity potential, there are serious risks and potential consequences associated with their adoption if not done securely.

Take for example:

• Marketing teams using an unsanctioned application that uses AI to generate amazing image and video content. What happens if the team loads sensitive information into the app and the details of your confidential product launch leak? Not the kind of “viral” you were looking for .

• Project managers using AI-powered note-taking apps to transcribe meetings and provide useful summaries. But what happens when the notes captured include a confidential discussion about this quarter’s financial results ahead of the earnings announcement?

• Developers using copilots and code optimization services to build products faster. But what if optimized code returned from a compromised application includes malicious scripts?

These are just a few of the ways that well-intentioned use of GenAI results in an unintentional increase in risk. But blocking these technologies may limit your organization’s ability to gain a competitive edge, so that isn’t the answer either. Companies can—and should—take the time to consider how they can empower their employees to use these applications securely. Here are a few considerations:

Visibility: You can’t protect what you don’t know about. One of the biggest challenges IT teams face with unsanctioned apps is that it’s difficult to respond to security incidents promptly, increasing the potential for security breaches. Every enterprise must monitor the use of third-party GenAI apps and understand the specific risks associated with each tool. Building on the understanding of which tools are being used, IT teams need visibility into what data is flowing in and out of corporate systems. This visibility will also help detect a security breach so it can be identified and rectified quickly.

Control: IT teams need the ability to make an informed decision on whether to block, allow or limit access to third-party GenAI apps, on either a per-application basis or leveraging risk-based or categorical controls. For example, you might want to block all access to code optimization tools for all employees but allow developers to access the third-party optimization tool that your information security team has assessed and sanctioned for internal use.

Data Security: Are your teams sharing sensitive data with the apps? IT teams need to block sensitive data from leaking to protect your data against misuse and theft. This is especially important if your company is regulated or subject to data sovereignty laws. In practice, this means monitoring the data being sent to GenAI apps, and then leveraging technical controls to ensure that sensitive or protected data, such as personally identifiable information or intellectual property, isn’t sent to these applications.

Threat prevention: The potential for exploits and vulnerabilities can be lurking underneath the surface of the GenAI tools being used by your teams. Given the incredibly fast rate at which many of these tools have been developed and brought to market, you often don’t know whether the model being used was built with corrupt models, trained on incorrect or malicious data, or is subject to a broad range of AI-specific vulnerabilities. It is a recommended best practice to monitor and control data flowing from the applications to your organization for malicious or suspicious activity.

While AI tools bring the incredible potential to maximize employee productivity and enable your organization to grow its top line while at the same time improving the bottom line, these tools also harbor new and more complex risks than we’ve ever seen before. It’s on business leaders and their IT teams to empower their workforce to confidently use AI tools while ensuring they are protected with awareness, visibility, controls, data protection, and threat prevention. Once your security teams know what’s being used and how, they can prevent sensitive data leaks and protect against the threats lurking inside insecure or compromised AI platforms.

If you're lucky enough to attend an early screening of John Krasinski's new film, "IF," you may be greeted with a short introduction by the writer/director, asserting that the film is expressly for all the "girl dads" out there. Having now seen it, that much is true: despite its family-friendly brief, "IF" is less for kids than for the adults of kids -- the girl dads, if you will -- who want something that feels a little more mature than " Minions " but doesn't scare the kids away. Far from it; it might just bore them to tears.

It's a bold shift for Krasinski, who's already transitioned from sitcom lead to successful director with the "Quiet Place" series, and yet, looking at the man himself, it makes perfect sense. This is the guy who started a little feel-good news show from his house during the pandemic (that he then sold to ViacomCBS for a presumed truckload of money), after all. He's the kind of all-American aw-shucks new dad who dipped his toe into the horror genre, and now wants to make a fun movie that his children can watch.

The results, such as they are, play out like a half-baked live-action adaptation of a Pixar picture, from the "Monsters, Inc"-like structure of the IF world and the dramedic coming-of-age tales of " Inside Out " and " Up ." The opening credits even evoke "Up," playing gauzy home movies of the rhythms of a playful, happy family—with Krasinski as the patriarch—ostensibly shot by a DV camera but which looks suspiciously like grainy, professional-grade film stock. When films use this kind of device, only one thing can come -- death. Not just once but twice: When we catch up with Krasinski's daughter, Bea ( Cailey Fleming ), she's still in mourning over the offscreen death of her mother some time ago, which is now compounded by her father staying at the hospital awaiting heart surgery. (We're never privy to the details: he just says he has a "broken heart," which is a nifty case study for the film's simple, cloying nature.) The trauma clearly eats away at her, despite Krasinski's quirked-up, obnoxious attempts to cheer her up in the hospital room.

In the meantime, Bea stays with her equally effervescent grandmother ( Fiona Shaw , one of the film's highlights) at her old, creaky apartment building. It's while there that she suddenly develops the ability to see people's imaginary friends (or IFs, as the film so proudly dubs them), and gets looped into an adventure involving her grandmother's downstairs neighbor, the cynical IF whisperer Calvin ( Ryan Reynolds ). You see, he's been running a kind of matchmaking service for IFs whose kids have stopped believing in them; once they do, you usually get put out to pasture in a kind of pastel retirement home. Bea, eager for something to do (and believe in), sets herself to the task of helping Calvin save the IFs by giving them someone to believe in them.

That's the loose framework upon which Krasinski's paper-thin script rests, one that gestures broadly at a kind of mechanical worldbuilding but soon throws its hands up in the air and greedily chases one heartstring after another. For a kid's adventure, it's surprisingly dour and sentimental, chucking laugh-out-loud jokes for a patient sense of melancholy. That may work well for the young dads in the audience, but it's gotta bore kids to tears.

Its early stretches see Krasinski using the suspenseful eye he developed during " A Quiet Place " to fascinating kid-horror effect: Janusz Kaminski shoots the winding staircase of grandma's apartment like it's the Overlook Hotel, and one early spooky moment shows us a kid's-eye view of how creepy a strange old woman leering at you in the hallway can be. There's something of Guillermo del Toro's more sentimental work in some of these moments, building a world where imagination can be just as much a threat as comfort.

But then we get to the IFs and their dilemma, where most of "IF" loses its steam. The creatures themselves are hardly much to write home about: they take whatever form their kids conceived, from fire-breathing dragons to walking, talking, self-roasting marshmallows, all voiced by a murderer's row of "that guy" guest voices that'll leave you reaching for your phone to pull up IMDb right after.

Sure, they're technically impressive to look at, but they're bereft of character or whimsy. That's especially true for the film's central IF, Blue ( Steve Carell ), a purple, snaggle-toothed furball resembling the Grimace as subjected to years of British dentistry. Rather than play him with any kind of arched eyebrow, Carell gives a surprisingly workmanlike performance, a right shame given the verbal dexterity that lets him own wild animated characters like Gru.

The human cast fares little better, especially Reynolds, who coasts through this thing with the half-hearted zeal of someone sick of repeating the same Deadpool schtick. It almost feels redundant to cast him here since he functions as a kind of stand-in for Krasinski as the "fun dad" he's always wanted to be; instead, Calvin exists primarily as a smarmy sidekick, a fellow cynic who nonetheless helps the IFs on their mission. Then there's Fleming herself, a waifish young girl who rises to the occasion in a few Big Moments near the end but who largely gets little to do besides pout and absorb information.

The mechanics of the IFs also beggar belief and change on a dime depending on which lazy heartstring Krasinski wants to pull next. The script can't seem to decide how they really work: Do they disappear once forgotten about, or are they put in a home? Is the plan to rehome them to new kids, or get their now-grown adult companions to believe in them again? What's the plan from there? All immaterial questions for the presumed kiddie audience, but it's easy to get lost in the shoddy mechanics of the thing when the product as is is this listless and humorless. By the end, you get the distinct feeling that all of this sturm und drang is in service to stakes that, all told, are exceedingly minimal.

Occasionally, Krasinski lands on a neat idea or a perfect scene: A kaleidoscopic chase through an IF retirement home that Bea is changing with her imagination (complete with Busby Berkeley riffs and Reynolds climbing through an oil painting); Shaw's character remembering her love of ballet while her former IF ( Phoebe Waller-Bridge ) dances alongside just out of sight. But for every one of these, we get another tired scene with half-hearted performers rotely asserting the plot, or trotting out cloying platitudes like "The most important stories we tell are the ones we tell ourselves." That's to say nothing of the film's musical choices, the last of which is so on-the-nose, so egregious, that Wes Anderson should sue for plagiarism.

"IF" is a well-intentioned misfire—a kid's movie without laughs and a parent's movie without purpose. I sure hope Krasinski had a ball making it; it seemed like a welcome balm after the stressors of doing two horror pictures. But now, it's time to put away childish things.
