What we’re about
Reading and discussion of literary texts written by participants in English or German. We are Berlin’s oldest English/German literary writing group. Founded in 1989, the Creative Writing Group Berlin e.V. meets every first Friday of the month at the Buchhändlerkeller, Carmerstr. 1, Charlottenburg at 7pm. To get started, come by to one of our meetings as a listener to get a taste of what we do. If you wish to read, bring 15 copies of a text you've written - not longer than 10 minutesֿ' reading time. Please note that we give deep and honest feedback to every reader, which also means not everybody gets to read at every meeting.

Hi folks, we are looking forward to our next meeting. Pack your poems, novels, short stories (if you like to read), make at least 15 copies to help the audience follow the texts you are presenting, and come to the Buchhändlerkeller! We need to pay rent for the room. So, if it's the first time you're coming, there won't be any fee. Otherwise we ask participants for 3 Euros.

The Berlin Writers' Workshop is an open community for writers and readers. We host creative writing workshops, creative writing classes, writing seminars, creative writing MFA tutorials, readings, casual writing groups, editorial services, and mentorships with professional writers.
Creative Writing I (FULL) The core of the Berlin Writers' Workshop, Creative Writing I is open to all writers regardless of experience or background. Through a combination of craft lessons and weekly discussions, we'll cover the basic elements of fiction and nonfiction: point of view, characterization, setting, scene and summary, and style.
