Get to grips with our mobile app for Android
The Show My Homework app is an easy way for students to stay organised on the go. To download the app, simply visit the Google Play Store and search for Show My Homework, or click the icon below.
Once you have downloaded the app you will need to search for your school. Then simply log in using your login details as normal.
Once logged in, you can get to the main menu anytime by tapping on the menu bar in the top-left corner. You can use the main menu to navigate to the following sections:
To-do list: View upcoming, past, or overdue homework
Timetable: View your scheduled classes per week. Kindly note this section will only appear if your school has Timetables enabled.
Notice board: View school announcements and event reminders
Reminders: Your own list of personal reminders
Updates: Review notifications for grades, comments or announcements that have been posted for you
Settings: Update your account settings, access our Help Centre or get in touch with us,
Sign out: Press to log out of your account on the app
From the To-do list, you can select tasks to read their description and download any resources attached to the task. The To-do List is divided into three different sections: Upcoming, Past, and Overdue. On the Upcoming list, you will find any homework with forthcoming deadlines. Once you have completed homework, check the box beside its title. If you want to view only homework that has not yet been ticked as complete, toggle the switch in the top-right-hand corner. On the Past list, you will find homework that you've marked as complete, and now their deadline has passed. The Overdue list will show you any homework that is now past its due date and has not been ticked off yet.
Marked something as completed before you meant to? Not to worry! The To-do list is simply an organisational tool, your teacher will not receive any notifications for this. You can untick the homework task to return it to your Upcoming list.
If you have a question for your teacher you can leave a comment for them by selecting the Comments tab and typing your comment in the text box.
If your teacher has requested that you submit your homework online , you can do this within the app. Simply upload your homework for online submissions directly from your camera gallery, Dropbox, or Google Drive by clicking the Submit Homework button.

You can’t open documents uploaded to homework. I have spent since February trying to resolve with Satchel, but. One of their fixes have resolved the issue.

The site doesn't work properly when my son try to upload his work via Google Chrome! AND we didn't get back any warning sign, eight pieces of his homework weren't submitted! So annoying! Finally, we could somewhat manage to use it via Safari...

Show My Homework can be useful for the minority, but not for me. Why? Well, I rarely connect to the internet and teachers can also forget to upload homework and you therefore miss out on learning. Planners are a perfectly reliable way to write homework: it never crashes, which Show My Homework does sometimes and you just have it with you. Without my beloved diary which my mum bought at WH Smith (she doesn't like it either) I probably wouldn't get homework done. I don't recommend this service.

I tried a free trial - my daughter didn’t use it. When I tried to cancel it was impossible. Customer services initially told me I didn’t have an account and I had to send a credit card statement to prove it. Then they sent instructions to access ‘cancel’ tabs that did not exist. Messages answered after gaps > 3 weeks at 16:51 one day as further payment taken that night. It’s now over a month since I instructed them to cancel the subscription which they have refused to do yet I am unable to. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY’S FREE TRIAL OR ADD ON SERVICES

Show my homework / satchel one is turning out to be diabolical. My grandson has only just started secondary school and has had his first detention ever for being late with homework even though it has been uploaded. Submitted homework is showing as outstanding (not in a good way!!) even though it has been done. Maths homework had questions that weren't covered in course work and English homework gave the answers but not the questions. Presumably schools are paying for this awful service, let's get back to proper teachers doing proper teaching and putting effort into delivering the curriculum and their pupils education and futures. Let's get personal!!

Issues accessing on and off but perserverence wins through. Overall excellent for keeping tabs on homework due. However, cannot seem to tick off completed homework which still showing as overdue tasks! Constant reminders for pupil to mark as completed but still doesn't accept tasks ticked off.

If you start writing in the SMHW document ( to submit hw ) and then go back to the "description" bit of your homework, everything gets deleted and it cannot be retrieved. I just lost an entire essay :) Fix this, SMHW!!!

Do not use this app / website - it has ruined my life. It encourages and enables laziness and selfishness from teachers, who can spend 30 seconds setting a 4-hour-long piece of homework without any more information than a sentence. My school uses this app, and I have been given several behaviour marks and detentions from not submitting a homework that didn't come up on SMHW for me, or didn't send to the teacher when I submitted it. It lets teachers bombard you with homework without setting it properly, and you are forced to spend every minute of your free time / weekends checking the damned website to see if you've been given homework, or else be punished. It just lets teachers ruin your holidays and home life with homework.

son's account has another pupil's details/homework etc on it, have been begging them since the beginning of September to sort it out....and so far (today is the 30th) they have ignored my 5 technical support tickets, and there is no contact on the site itself, i've had to do a bit of detective work but i've found a number for them.....

This website is good if it is used properly by both teachers and students. Some teachers may forget to upload homework so I do understand some peoples reservations about using the website. Our school has recently got rid of the trusty paper homework diaries as a way saving money and paper. And although these were a useful way of keeping track of assignments, individual pupils tended to "forget" to write down homework. This website provides no excuses. The website also allows students to upload assignments online. Quizzes and online activities can also be uploaded by teachers. Show my homework also has an app!!!

Sat / act prep online guides and tips, the 5 best homework help websites (free and paid).
Other High School , General Education
Listen: we know homework isn’t fun, but it is a good way to reinforce the ideas and concepts you’ve learned in class. But what if you’re really struggling with your homework assignments?
If you’ve looked online for a little extra help with your take-home assignments, you’ve probably stumbled across websites claiming to provide the homework help and answers students need to succeed . But can homework help sites really make a difference? And if so, which are the best homework help websites you can use?
Below, we answer these questions and more about homework help websites–free and paid. We’ll go over:
So let’s get started!
Homework help websites are designed to help you complete your homework assignments, plain and simple.
Most of the best sites allow users to ask questions and then provide an answer (or multiple possible answers) and explanation in seconds. In some instances, you can even send a photo of a particular assignment or problem instead of typing the whole thing out!
Homework help sites also offer more than just help answering homework questions. Common services provided are Q&A with experts, educational videos, lectures, practice tests and quizzes, learning modules, math solving tools, and proofreading help. Homework help sites can also provide textbook solutions (i.e. answers to problems in tons of different textbooks your school might be using), one-on-one tutoring, and peer-to-peer platforms that allow you to discuss subjects you’re learning about with your fellow students.
And best of all, nearly all of them offer their services 24/7, including tutoring!
When it comes to homework help, there are lots–and we mean lots –of scam sites out there willing to prey on desperate students. Before you sign up for any service, make sure you read reviews to ensure you’re working with a legitimate company.
A word to the wise: the more a company advertises help that veers into the territory of cheating, the more likely it is to be a scam. The best homework help websites are going to help you learn the concepts you’ll need to successfully complete your homework on your own. (We’ll go over the difference between “homework help” and “cheating” a little later!)
You don't need a golden piggy bank to use homework help websites. Some provide low or no cost help for students like you!
First of all, just because a homework help site costs money doesn’t mean it’s a good service. Likewise, just because a homework help website is free doesn’t mean the help isn’t high quality. To find the best websites, you have to take a close look at the quality and types of information they provide!
When it comes to paid homework help services, the prices vary pretty widely depending on the amount of services you want to subscribe to. Subscriptions can cost anywhere from $2 to $150 dollars per month, with the most expensive services offering several hours of one-on-one tutoring with a subject expert per month.
So, what is the best homework help website you can use? The answer is that it depends on what you need help with.
The best homework help websites are the ones that are reliable and help you learn the material. They don’t just provide answers to homework questions–they actually help you learn the material.
That’s why we’ve broken down our favorite websites into categories based on who they’re best for . For instance, the best website for people struggling with math might not work for someone who needs a little extra help with science, and vice versa.
Keep reading to find the best homework help website for you!
Not only is Khan Academy free, but it’s full of information and can be personalized to suit your needs. When you set up your account , you choose which courses you need to study, and Khan Academy sets up a personal dashboard of instructional videos, practice exercises, and quizzes –with both correct and incorrect answer explanations–so you can learn at your own pace.
As an added bonus, it covers more course topics than many other homework help sites, including several AP classes.
Runner Up: Brainly.com offers a free service that allows you to type in questions and get answers and explanations from experts. The downside is that you’re limited to two answers per question and have to watch ads.
This service has three main parts . The first is Chegg Study, which includes textbook solutions, Q&A with subject experts, flashcards, video explanations, a math solver, and writing help. The resources are thorough, and reviewers state that Chegg answers homework questions quickly and accurately no matter when you submit them.
Chegg also offers textbook rentals for students who need access to textbooks outside of their classroom. Finally, Chegg offers Internship and Career Advice for students who are preparing to graduate and may need a little extra help with the transition out of high school.
Another great feature Chegg provides is a selection of free articles geared towards helping with general life skills, like coping with stress and saving money. Chegg’s learning modules are comprehensive, and they feature solutions to the problems in tons of different textbooks in a wide variety of subjects.
Runner Up: Bartleby offers basically the same services as Chegg for $14.99 per month. The reason it didn’t rank as the best is based on customer reviews that say user questions aren’t answered quite as quickly on this site as on Chegg. Otherwise, this is also a solid choice!
This site allows you to t ake a picture of a math problem, and instantly pulls up a step-by-step solution, as well as a detailed explanation of the concept. Photomath also includes animated videos that break down mathematical concepts to help you better understand and remember them.
The basic service is free, but for an additional fee you can get extra study tools and learn additional strategies for solving common math problems.
Runner Up: KhanAcademy offers in-depth tutorials that cover complex math topics for free, but you won’t get the same tailored help (and answers!) that Photomath offers.
While sites like Grammarly and Sparknotes help you by either proofreading what you write via an algorithm or providing book summaries, Princeton Review’s tutors provide in-depth help with vocabulary, literature, essay writing and development, proofreading, and reading comprehension. And unlike other services, you’ll have the chance to work with a real person to get help.
The best part is that you can get on-demand English (and ESL) tutoring from experts 24/7. That means you can get help whenever you need it, even if you’re pulling an all-nighter!
This is by far the most expensive homework site on this list, so you’ll need to really think about what you need out of a homework help website before you commit. One added benefit is that the subscription covers over 80 other subjects, including AP classes, which can make it a good value if you need lots of help!
When it comes to science homework help, there aren’t a ton of great resources out there. The best of the bunch is Studypool, and while it has great reviews, there are some downsides as well.
Let’s start with the good stuff. Studypool offers an interesting twist on the homework help formula. After you create a free account, you can submit your homework help questions, and tutors will submit bids to answer your questions. You’ll be able to select the tutor–and price point–that works for you, then you’ll pay to have your homework question answered. You can also pay a small fee to access notes, lectures, and other documents that top tutors have uploaded.
The downside to Studypool is that the pricing is not transparent . There’s no way to plan for how much your homework help will cost, especially if you have lots of questions! Additionally, it’s not clear how tutors are selected, so you’ll need to be cautious when you choose who you’d like to answer your homework questions.
Homework help websites can be a great resource if you’re struggling in a subject, or even if you just want to make sure that you’re really learning and understanding topics and ideas that you’re interested in. But, there are some possible drawbacks if you don’t use these sites responsibly.
We’ll go over the good–and the not-so-good–aspects of getting online homework help below.
First, let’s take a look at the benefits.
This is a big one! Getting outside help with your studies can improve your understanding of concepts that you’re learning, which translates into better grades when you take tests or write essays.
Remember: homework is designed to help reinforce the concepts you learned in class. If you just get easy answers without learning the material behind the problems, you may not have the tools you need to be successful on your class exams…or even standardized tests you’ll need to take for college.
One of the main reasons that online homework help is appealing is because it’s flexible and convenient. You don’t have to go to a specific tutoring center while they’re open or stay after school to speak with your teacher. Instead, you can access helpful resources wherever you can access the internet, whenever you need them.
This is especially true if you tend to study at off hours because of your extracurriculars, work schedule, or family obligations. Sites that offer 24/7 tutoring can give you the extra help you need if you can’t access the free resources that are available at your school.
Not everyone learns the same way. Maybe you’re more of a visual learner, but your teacher mostly does lectures. Or maybe you learn best by listening and taking notes, but you’re expected to learn something just from reading the textbook .
One of the best things about online homework help is that it comes in a variety of forms. The best homework help sites offer resources for all types of learners, including videos, practice activities, and even one-on-one discussions with real-life experts.
This variety can also be a good thing if you just don’t really resonate with the way a concept is being explained (looking at you, math textbooks!).
Not so fast. There are cons to homework help websites, too. Get to know them below!
Now, let’s take a look at the drawbacks of online homework help.
This can be a real problem. In addition to all the really good homework help sites, there are a whole lot of disreputable or unreliable sites out there. The fact of the matter is that some homework help sites don’t necessarily hire people who are experts in the subjects they’re talking about. In those cases, you may not be getting the accurate, up-to-date, and thorough information you need.
Additionally, even the great sites may not be able to answer all of your homework questions. This is especially true if the site uses an algorithm or chatbot to help students…or if you’re enrolled in an advanced or college-level course. In these cases, working with your teacher or school-provided tutors are probably your best option.
This depends on the service you use, of course. But the majority of them provide free or low-cost help through pre-recorded videos. Watching videos or reading info online can definitely help you with your homework… but you can’t ask questions or get immediate feedback if you need it .
Like we mentioned earlier, there are a lot of homework help websites out there, and lots of them are scams. The review comments we read covered everything from outdated or wrong information, to misleading claims about the help provided, to not allowing people to cancel their service after signing up.
No matter which site you choose to use, make sure you research and read reviews before you sign up–especially if it’s a paid service!
Admittedly, whether using homework help websites constitutes cheating is a bit of a grey area. For instance, is it “help” when a friend reads your essay for history class and corrects your grammar, or is it “cheating”? The truth is, not everyone agrees on when “help” crosses the line into “cheating .” When in doubt, it can be a good idea to check with your teacher to see what they think about a particular type of help you want to get.
That said, a general rule of thumb to keep in mind is to make sure that the assignment you turn in for credit is authentically yours . It needs to demonstrate your own thoughts and your own current abilities. Remember: the point of every homework assignment is to 1) help you learn something, and 2) show what you’ve learned.
So if a service answers questions or writes essays for you, there’s a good chance using it constitutes cheating.
Here’s an example that might help clarify the difference for you. Brainstorming essay ideas with others or looking online for inspiration is “help” as long as you write the essay yourself. Having someone read it and give you feedback about what you need to change is also help, provided you’re the one that makes the changes later.
But copying all or part of an essay you find online or having someone write (or rewrite) the whole thing for you would be “cheating.” The same is true for other subjects. Ultimately, if you’re not generating your own work or your own answers, it’s probably cheating.
Now that you know some of our favorite homework help websites, free and paid, you can start doing some additional research on your own to decide which services might work best for you! Here are some top tips for choosing a homework help website.
Before you decide which site or sites you’re going to use for homework help, y ou should figure out what kind of learning style works for you the most. Are you a visual learner? Then choose a site that uses lots of videos to help explain concepts. If you know you learn best by actually doing tasks, choose a site that provides lots of practice exercises.
Just because a homework help site is good overall doesn’t mean that it’s equally good for every subject. If you only need help in math, choose a site that specializes in that area. But if history is where you’re struggling, a site that specializes in math won’t be much help. So make sure to choose a site that you know provides high-quality help in the areas you need it most.
This is really about cost-effectiveness. If you learn well on your own by reading and watching videos, a free site like Khan Academy is a good choice. But if you need actual tutoring, or to be able to ask questions and get personalized answers from experts, a paid site that provides that kind of service may be a better option.
If you decide you want to go with a paid homework help website, set a budget first . The prices for sites vary wildly, and the cost to use them can add up quick.
Finally, it’s always a good idea to read actual reviews written by the people using these homework sites. You’ll learn the good, the bad, and the ugly of what the users’ experiences have been. This is especially true if you intend to subscribe to a paid service. You’ll want to make sure that users think it’s worth the price overall!
If you want to get good grades on your homework, it’s a good idea to learn how to tackle it strategically. Our expert tips will help you get the most out of each assignment…and boost your grades in the process.

Holly R. "I am absolutely overjoyed and cannot thank you enough for helping me!”
A lot of teachers think that if you assign homework, you must review it with students the following day. This makes sense in that it’s important for students to correct and learn from their mistakes.
But what if they didn’t make any mistakes? I realize it’s unlikely every student will have the correct answer for any given question. Yet even if only half the class got it right, what should those students do while you review something they already know how to do? Well, I can tell you what they did in my classroom before I changed my approach: they talked or slept or worked on assignments for other classes.
The root of the problem is the same as what I described in the context of class openers (or Do Nows ): teachers reviewing an assignment without knowing whether students need them to review it. In extreme cases, teachers go over every homework assignment, beginning to end. I’m reminded of my high school math teacher working through problem after problem on the board, oblivious to snoozing and socializing students.
Then there are those teachers who act like disc jockeys by taking audience requests: “What questions would you like me to go over?” And if just one kid requests #3, the teacher reviews #3. Same goes for #4, #5, and so on. I did this until it backfired for a couple of reasons. First, just because Michael needs you to review #3 doesn’t mean Maria and Marcus do, which is why many students don’t pay attention when teachers use the DJ approach. Second, if students want to keep you from moving on to the next activity, all they have to do is request another question. And if you think kids won’t play you like this, think again. Nothing rankled me more than students asking me to go over problems, and then yakking or putting their heads on their desks as I obliged them.
Of course, you can’t look over students’ shoulders while they’re doing homework, so you’ll need to identify in class those homework questions most students need you to review. And here’s a great way to do this:
As you wrap up the class opener, show the answers to homework on your interactive whiteboard or projector screen. Then give students five minutes or so to check their answers and troubleshoot their errors, while you circulate to identify questions worth reviewing as a class (i.e., those most students struggled with)--and identify students to present the correct solutions to the class.
This process not only saves time, but also improves student learning. By working backward from the correct answers, students often figure out where they went wrong, and have a better grasp of the material as a result. And in the end, you’ll have fewer questions to review as a class, and a more captive audience for those questions you do need to review--as captive as any DJ could hope for!

The key to being a great exploitation filmmaker is figure out how to alter an already released film in order to exploit a new development. There were a lot of films that changed titles to exploit a headline or trend. When Homework was originally released in 1979, it was a low budget teen sex comedy with a few named older actresses in smaller supporting roles. But a few years afterward, one of the actresses finally had a career break through that turned her into an international superstar. Joan Collins saved the primetime soap opera Dynasty in the Fall of 1981. Since this was an era before home video caught fire, the makers of Homework retooled the film and put it back in theaters for 1982. They sliced up Joan Collins’ few scenes so she appeared throughout the film. Plus to make it sizzle, they added nudity to her role with a body double. They redid the advertising and posters so Joan Collins looked like she was the star as an older woman wanting to get in the pants of a high school boy. The now superstar Joan Collins was not happy and dragged them to court. The lawsuit made Homework a notorious film.
High Schooler Tommy ( Midnight Offering s’ Michael Morgan) daydreams about his future profession of being a photographer for Playboy. He’s just completely obsessed with getting laid. He even confesses this to the school counselor ( Diary of a Mad Housewife ‘s Carrie Snodgress). When he discovers one of his classmates has musical talent and songwriting skills, Tommy decides that they need to start a band so he can get groupie action after their first gig. In order to have a cool band, they recruit Lisa ( General Hospital ‘s Shell Kepler) who can play bass while on a skateboard. They also recruit Cookie (Renee Harris) whose father doesn’t want her singing in a rock band since Alice Cooper doesn’t have a PhD. Their first dream is to win the school’s talent show and impress an agent in the audience. Is Tommy going to spend the summer on the road covered in groupies? And what’s up with his swimming obsessed not-quite-girlfriend’s mom (Joan Collins) who looks at him so lustfully?
Homework has a Crown International vibe from this era without one of the characters owning a cool van. It’s easy to trash the movie since it’s not a snazzy big studio production. Dale Pollack’s review in the Los Angeles Times complained about “poor photography, sloppy editing and atrocious acting.” Pollack went on to be the producer of the nearly forgotten teen movie Meet The Deedles that hasn’t been on DVD in nearly 20 years. Pollack’s film cost 25 times the budget of Homework and made a third less at the box office. What Homework really has going for it is that this film isn’t just about teen fantasies with no consequences. One of the teenagers borrows dad’s expensive foreign car. When he drives back into the garage, his dad rewards his spunk by kicking his ass. This was rather revolutionary when you consider that you didn’t see Tom Cruise in Risky Business or Cameron in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off get curb stomped by dad for screwing up their dream cars. Another character has to get the disturbing news from the health department that they might have V.D. Homework isn’t just plucky teen frolics. These kids are getting their teen dreams popped as we watch.
There are quite a few notable faces in the movie. Wings Hauser ( Tough Guys Don’t Dance ) plays a skeezy coked up record producer that gets frisky with a band member in his office. His secretary is Betty Thomas right before she joined the force on Hill Street Blues . Lee Purcell would go on to play the younger wife who wants to sleep with a teenager that her stepdaughter wants in Valley Girl . That almost the plot here since Joan Collins wants to hook up with her daughter’s frustrated boyfriend.
Those two films aren’t the same since they featured the moms going after daughters’ boyfriends as just a side plot. A year after the re-issue of Homework , there would be a movie featuring an older British actress getting into a high schooler’s pants as the main plot. The film was Class with Jacquiline Bisset ( The Deep ) hooking up with Andrew McCarthy. The makers of Homework paved the way for MILF-mania even if they had to reshoot and recut the film to achieve it.
The Video is 1.85:1 anamorphic. The 1080p transfer maintains the grainy nature of the low budget film. The Audio is LPCM 2.0 mono and Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo. The LPCM has a bit more depth to it. The movie is subtitled in English.
Interview With Legendary Producer Max Rosenberg (27:20) lets us meet up with half of Amicus Productions. He gets into what made him bust up the English based horror company. He was the executive producer on Homework . He talks about getting Joan Collins for $25,000. Things went bad when she sued over the body double and the hinting poster. He was also not happy with director James Beshears. Making matters worse, he invested his own money in the film and wasn’t thrilled when original distributor went bankrupt when the film was still in release. Homework had been a success and the box office returns vaporized. Max passed away in 2004 so it’s great to get to hear him. He does seem confused about what was going on in Carrie Snodgress’ life. The ex-lover he can’t name is Neil Young. They never married, but had a kid together. Although Max might really be talking about her relationship with record producer Jack Nitzsche which ended when he assaulted her with a gun.
Promotional Gallery (1:18) has movie ads, lots of press photos of Joan Collins, the posters with Joan Collins in various undress and home video boxes. The European VHS boxes removed Joan Collins’ photos from the cover.
Homework Trailer (1:25) is a red band trailer! We see what this film is all about with Joan Collins in white jeans. There’s also trailers for Fully Body Massage, Tokyo Decadence and Nightwish .
Unearthed Films present Homework . Directed by James Beshears. Screenplay Maurice Peterson & Don Safran. Starring Joan Collins, Michael Morgan, Shell Kepler, Lanny Horn, Erin Donovan, Renee Harris, Mark Brown, Betty Thomas, Lee Purcell, Carrie Snodgress & Wings Hauser. Running Time: 89 minutes. Show my homework / satchel one is turning out to be diabolical. My grandson has only just started secondary school and has had his first detention ever for being late with homework even though it has been uploaded. Submitted homework is showing as outstanding (not in a good way!!) even though it has been done.
