Heavenly Father, I thank you for the family I am born into. Thank you for that; it is the most excellent choice you made for me. I ask that you keep my family from evil in Jesus. God, I pray that your presence never departs from my family and that your purpose for my family is established. Let my family solve all the problems we face. May the devil’s plan to steal, kill, and destroy never succeed against any family member. I declare that in my family, everyone will grow in the knowledge of the Lord. God, I pray for strength for my family members. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Remember to lift your family members in prayer regularly, trusting that God hears and answers our prayers according to His perfect will.

Find Support in the Bible
Our scriptural reference for the importance of family prayer is taken from Joshua 24:15: “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But for me and my household, we will serve the Lord”.
Joshua told the Israelites we shall serve the Lord for me and my household because he knew the great benefits of one’s relationship with the Lord. So, beloved, if you love your family, you will know that organizing special prayers for your family members will go a long way to help them. It’s a long way to know the Lord and to have His divine purpose fulfilled.
Also, 1 Corinthians 7:14 shows us the power of prayers for family members. It teaches us that we can, by prayer, help to seek of sanctification of our unbelieving spouse.
Do you know that even Jesus, our Lord, prayed to God over specific issues while he was on earth? ( Hebrews 5:7-8 ). It shows us how powerful prayer is. We must include a special prayer for family members in our daily routine.
Reasons for Prayers for Family Members
There are several reasons why we pray for family members’ problems and strength:
- Love and concern. We love our family members and want to see them happy and healthy. So when we see our loved ones struggling with problems, we naturally pray for them to find strength and overcome their difficulties.
- Support. Praying for family members going through tough times can offer support and show they are not alone in their struggles.
- Faith. Praying is a way to connect with our faith and believe that the highest power can intervene and provide help and guidance.
- Gratitude. We pray for our family members as a way of expressing gratitude for the blessings we have in our lives and asking for continued protection and strength.
In special prayers for family members, we shall be taking our prayer points from the passages of the Bible. Since the Bible is the word of God, there is no way one will pray wrongly by it.
Prayer is the involvement of the hand of God in making what we want to become possible. When God gets involved, solving problems and getting the desired result is easy.
Some Prayer Points
- I command all the threefold assignment of the devil written in John 10:10 never succeed against my family in Jesus’ name.
- Like Joshua, I confess that the members of my family and I will serve the Lord in Jesus’ name.
- Heavenly Father, I pray that you preserve my family from making wrong choices capable of causing untimely death in any way in Jesus’ name (Ruth 1:1-5).
- Isaiah 54:13 O God, according to your word, teach my children the way of salvation and let their peace be great in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 54:13).
- I rebuke the spirit of untimely death from my family and call that the promise of God for long life be made manifest upon every member of my family in Jesus’ name (Psalms 91:16).
- According to your word of God in the book of Ephesians 3:14-15 the name of my family springs from you; let it be impossible for evil powers to destroy my family in Jesus’ name.
- God, expose by fire every serpent-like person sent to disorganize my family in Jesus’ name.
God bless you all.

5 Prayers for When Your Family Is Struggling
In 2009, our family hit a crisis. Initially, I retreated within myself, allowed bitterness to fester, and began to slip into depression. But then one morning while reading my Bible, a truth gripped my heart: I had an opportunity to show our daughter what true faith looked like. I could model how family can lean on one another and Jesus when life hurt.
God spoke to my spirit that day and called me to find strength in Him. I did. We all did. We came together as a family, centered our hearts and relationships on Christ, and trusted Him to carry us through. He did, and brought us through stronger than before our difficulties hit.
He taught us to anchor ourselves deeply in His love and grace. If you’re going through a painful time, I encourage you to do the same. Here are five prayers that can encourage and equip you to deepen your faith, unite your hearts, and find everything you need to rise victorious above your circumstances.
This year our family hit a crisis. Initially, I retreated within myself, allowed bitterness to fester, and began to slip into depression. I began to seek God's guidance in prayer. I realized I could model how family can lean on one another and Jesus when life hurt.
God spoke to my spirit that day and called me to find strength in Him. I began to pray for our family daily. We all did. We came together as a family, centered our hearts and relationships on Christ, and trusted Him to carry us through. He did, and brought us through stronger than before our difficulties hit.
He taught us to anchor ourselves deeply in His love and grace. If you’re going through a painful time as a family, I encourage you to do the same - find time starting right now to pray alone and pray togoether over your family. Here are five prayers for your family that can encourage and equip you to deepen your faith, unite your hearts, and find everything you need to rise victorious above your circumstances.
1. A Prayer for the Lord's Presence in Your Family
Lord, holy my family tight. If my relationship with Christ depended on my faithfulness, I’d be in trouble. There’ve been period when I’ve been so hurt, so sad, or so angry, I couldn’t bring myself to pray. When a dear friend was dying from brain cancer, my conversations with God were far from “faith-filled.” I was mad. I knew He had the power to heal her, should He choose. I struggled to understand why He didn’t. But God held me through that time and brought me to a place where I could receive and rest in His comfort. He longs to do the same for you and your family.
When you’re struggling and your emotions are raging beyond your control, praise God for His enduring love and ask Him to draw you near. Recognize that your loved ones may feel overwhelmed with anger and sorrow as well. Pray on their behalf. Ask God, their Creator and the lover of their souls, to gather them close to His heart.
2. A Prayer for Family Unity
God, unite our family. When chaos hits, we can act as if our loved ones are our enemies. We may attack them with hurtful words or behaviors. But what if we stood shoulder-to-shoulder and fought with them against whatever was threatening to tear our family apart? What if we made our loved ones our allies and intentionally came together during difficult times? What if God wants to use the event that has the capacity to destroy our family to strengthen and unite us instead?
When trouble comes, recognize the relational danger ahead and pray for God’s protective, uniting intervention. Ask Him to unite your hearts, help you see the best in each other, and to cast out any thoughts that might pit you against one another. This is a great prayer to say as a family. Not only is that a request God loves to honor, but it also encourages everyone to adopt and maintain the same focus.

3. Prayer for Family Wisdom
Father God, give our family wisdom. Our brains can shut down when we feel afraid, uncertain, or are hurting. The problems before us may feel bigger than everything we know to be true. In our own strength, we might doubt that which we held to with certainty during times of tranquility.
In our weakened state, we’re more prone to deception, faulty perceptions, and poor decisions. Anxiety can grow beyond the crisis to cover all areas of life. Sorrow can cause us to set and reach for low expectations. When we’re angry and afraid, we’re much more likely to make rash, high-risk decisions and much less apt to self-regulate.
God longs to guide us through our most difficult situations. In fact, in James 2-5 , He invites us to come to Him in the middle of our trials. First, He tells us to expect problems but not to allow them to defeat us. Instead, we should view them with joy, knowing God is using them for our good. To help us gain a Christ-centered perspective, He says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” ( James 1:5 NIV).
I love the phrase, “who gives generously to all without finding fault.” God doesn’t get upset when we’re confused or uncertain. He doesn’t stand distant with arms crossed, waiting for us to figure everything out. Instead, He draws us near and urges us to seek Him in the middle of our most painful or frightening situations. Why? Because He loves us, knows what’s best for us, has a plan for us, and is at that moment working out His plan.
God wants to use every situation, our hardships included, to grow us and deepen our trust. All we need to do is listen for His voice, surrender to what we hear, and obey.
4. A Prayer for Family Joy
Lord, grant us joy. The beginning of that verse from James quoted above begins with, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds” ( James 1:2 , NIV). For years, those words made me cringe, and more often than not, left me feeling guilty. Joy? When my friend was dying? When chronic illness challenged my identity and way of life? When my daughter struggled with depression and I felt powerless to help? Was I really to have joy during those situations?
Yes, though perhaps not the type of joy most of us think of when we hear the word. Biblical joy, chara in the original Greek, isn’t some euphoric emotion . Instead, sharing the same root from which we get the word grace , it’s a deep assurance and awareness of God’s grace. It’s knowing and trusting that God is working out all things for our good and His glory ( Romans 8:28 ).
This is precisely what James 1:2-4 is saying. If I were to paraphrase the passage in my own words, it might read something like this:
Rest assured that God is in this and has your good in mind. He is growing your perseverance and bringing you to a place of maturity, of completion, where you will lack nothing. So hold tight and stay close to Him. He’ll show you what to do and when. But most importantly, know He’s got this, and He’s got you.
The knowledge of God’s unending grace and perfect faithfulness can anchor our souls and hold us steady through the most turbulent times.

5. Proclaim God’s goodness over our family.
Many of us have probably heard Philippians 4:6-7 , which tells us not to worry but to relinquish our concerns to God. However, we often miss the crucial parenthetical insert sandwiched between the first and last part of that passage: “with thanksgiving.” As we present our requests to God, may we pause to thank Him for all the ways He’s helped us in the past, all the ways He’ll help us today and tomorrow, and His unchanging nature that drives Him to do so.
When a crisis hits, praise may feel like the last thing you want to do. But there’s great strength in verbally acknowledging all we know to be true about God. As we speak words of adoration for God’s perfect wisdom, unending love, and unfathomable power, our problems don’t feel quite so daunting. They’re put into perspective when we remember, through prayers of praise, that they’re in God’s hands.
Difficulties will come and, when faced alone, they can destroy our families. But they don’t have to. In fact, God can use every struggle and heartache to draw us closer to Himself, deepen our faith, and strengthen our bonds with Him and with one another.

Prayer For Resolving Family Conflict
Dear Lord, it is hard to be kind to your family when they are mean to you. But being unkind only makes the situation worse. Lord, let your spirit help us to resolve the issues that we have among ourselves. As we meet and discuss our differences help us to show kindness to one another just the way Jesus was kind to sinners. Remove pride from our hearts and help us to see each other as children of God who are dearly loved and forgiven by our heavenly Father. In Jesus' name, we believe and pray, Amen.
Lord Jesus, you loved us while we were still sinners and you continue to shower us with your love even when we fail. We have lost track as a family because of pain and pride. We have hurt each other through our actions and words. Lord, let your love take control of our thoughts, actions, and words as we interact with each other. Please help us to value each other the same way you value us and give us the grace to treat each other right. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
Heavenly Father, let your Holy Spirit teach us how to put other people first just the way you put us first by giving up your only Son to die on the cross for us. May we experience your love on a new and deeper level that we may be able to love one another with the love of Christ. May we start putting the interests of others before our selfish interests from this day forward. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
Heavenly Father, I bring our family before your throne. Lord, it has been from one conflict to another, and every time we try to resolve our differences, things keep getting worse. The enemy is determined to separate us, but you are the one who brought us together. I stand firm in the authority that you've given me as your child, and I command the devil to leave our family alone. We are covered with the blood of Jesus, and nothing will, by any means, hurt us. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
Oh God, thank you for your word because it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto our path. Your word says that we do not war against flesh and blood but principalities, powers and the rulers of darkness. We come before you as a family today because we know it is the enemy who has been behind the strife that we've been experiencing in this house. The enemy is not happy with the progress that we are making as a family. Even though we've fallen into the enemy's traps several times, we are rising again in the power of the Holy Ghost. We declare and decree that conflict is not our portion. Lord, help us to do things that will bring glory to your name. In Jesus' name, we believe and pray, Amen.
Dear God, in your infinite wisdom, you started the institution of marriage and family. I believe that my family is a gift from you and the first ministry that you have given to me. But, God, the enemy has waged war against my family. Peace has been replaced with conflict and manipulation. We used to love and respect each other, and now everyone is self-centered. Lord, I repent on behalf of everyone. All of us have wronged you and each other with our selfishness. Forgive us, give us patience so that we can resolve our differences in an amicable way. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
Oh Lord, We have had many disagreements among ourselves as a family. Lord, none of us is ready to admit their mistake; we only want to blame others. Holy Spirit, remind us of the great sacrifice that our heavenly Father made for us through his Son Jesus that we may be humbled in our hearts. Please help us to stop looking at each other's weaknesses and faults. May we forgive one another and be the family that brings glory to your name. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Dear Lord God,
I pray for your Divine Intervention to resolve all our problems in the family that we’re facing recently. We have a lot of experiences in the past which have resulted to deep heartaches, feelings of frustration and grudges. Please heal and strengthen each member of my family so that we will have the courage to forgive and move on with our lives as one united family.
Lord, I ask to Thee for forgiveness for our failure to make ourselves open to one another, for letting our pride prevail within us and for being pessimistic. I pray that each of us will be bless with more patience, apprehension, good communication and predominant love.
May all the families in the world especially experiencing broken family relationships, depression, addiction, agitation and other relationship problems be resolved and entirely healed by our Almighty God.
I ask and pray to Thee through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayers for family members are prayers for keeping a family together and safe. It is a prayer we say to ask God for help to solve family members problems and to strengthen your family. Sometimes our family members can be the cause of distraction and worry. Some your family members don’t have a personal relationship with God, so your prayer for these family members is essential. Remember the words of pop John Paul II: “A family that prays together stays together”.
Prayers for family members problems and strength
Heavenly Father I thank you for the family I am born into. I thank you that it is the greatest choice you made for me. I ask that you keep my family from all forms of evil in Jesus. God, I pray that your presence never departs from my family and that your purpose for my family be established. Let my family solve all the problems we face. May the plan of the devil to steal, kill and destroy never succeed against any member of my family. I declare that in my family everyone will grow in the knowledge of the Lord. God, I pray for strength to my family members. In Jesus name. Amen.
Our scriptural reference for importance of family prayer is taken from Joshua 24:15: “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord”.
Joshua said to the Israelites, as for me and my household we shall serve the Lord because he knew the great benefits that lie in one’s relationship with the Lord. Beloved, if indeed you love your family you will know that organizing of special prayers for your family members will go a long way to help them. It’s long way to know the Lord and to have His divine purpose fulfilled.

Do you know that even Jesus our Lord, while he was on earth, prayed to God over certain issues? (Hebrews 5:7-8). It shows us how powerful prayer. It’s cleat that we need to include a special prayer for family members in our daily routine.
Two major reasons why we must say prayers for family members:
- They are our loved ones.
- It is important that we pray for our family members. Then the Lord could protect them from the devil’s attack that can make them become a major source of distraction to us. In the Bible, we see how Abraham involved in a war with five kings because he wanted to rescue Lot from their bondage.
In special prayer for family members we shall be taking our prayer points from the passages of the Bible. Since the Bible is the word of God, there is no way one will prayer wrongly in accordance to it. Prayer is the involvement of the hand of God in making what we want to become possible. When God gets involved, it becomes easy to solve the problems, to get the result we desire.
- I command all the threefold assignment of the devil written in John 10:10 never succeed against my family in Jesus name.
- Like Joshua I confess that both I and the members of my family will serve the Lord in Jesus name.
- Heavenly father I pray that you preserve my family from making wrong choices capable of causing untimely death in any way in Jesus name (Ruth 1:1-5).
- Isaiah 54:13 O God according to your word, teach my children the way of salvation and let their peace be great in Jesus name (Isaiah 54:13).
- I rebuke the spirit of untimely death from my family and call that the promise of God for long life be made manifest upon every member of my family in Jesus name (Psalms 91:16).
- According to your word of God in the book of Ephesians 3:14-15 the name of my family springs from you let it be impossible for evil powers to destroy my family in Jesus name.
- O God expose by fire every serpent-like person sent to disorganize my family in Jesus name.

The Repairer of Neglects
Even persons of most generous dispositions and quick perceptions, in the midst of the unceasing occupations of a family, will often forget a number of those minute details, insignificant in themselves, but the deprivation of which is a real trial to certain temperaments. The details of family life are like the small screws which bind together the different parts of a piece of furniture: withdraw one or two of them, and the piece of furniture loses its shape; it becomes disjointed.
It is thus, also, in a family; its harmony is oftentimes only to be ascribed to the care taken not to neglect one of those trifling nothings of politeness, punctuality, or habit, to all of which we should pay almost as much attention as we give to greater duties.
Doing one’s bit for love: happiness, harmony and emotional security in the family
Each member of a family, especially if he is advanced in years, has his little peculiarities, which render him happy in some way or other.
Perhaps it is a garment made to a special pattern.
Or a newspaper brought at a particular hour.
Or a game played in such a place.
Or a visit expected at some precise moment.
Or the expression of congratulations at a particular hour.
Or a desire scarcely manifested, but often experienced…
Watch all these little things. Take it upon yourself to visit every morning the corners where the members of the family like to find everything that may be useful during the day. Go first to the apartment where they all assemble; remove everything that might displease them; perfect all the arrangements which have been carelessly made.
But do it all without noise, and unostentatiously. Enjoy only the happiness which it affords you. Oh! how God will repay you in heaven.

WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THE INQUIETUDE OF A SOUL OR OF A FAMILY?
The inquietude of a soul or of a family always comes from the absence of the direct action of God.
Do you wish that life should return to these drooping souls with all its fullness, bringing its clear sky and joyous sun?
Bring back God to them.
