Motivation Letter For Bachelor Of International Relations At Leiden University
Hello everyone, I am currently writing a motivation letter for a Bachelor of international relations at Leiden University. The word limit is 400, so I wrote it. However,I think it doesn't look clear and good. I'd appreciate if anyone gives me advice and helps with my motivation letter. I am afraid to write and submit this letter because my English and writing skill is horrible. Thank you so much!
Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Yosup Shin. I am writing this letter to express my motivation and interest in international relations to join a political science bachelor program starting in September 2021 in the Hague.
I have always been an inquisitive child. I never stopped asking questions to my teachers and parents. Most of the questions that I asked were about foreign languages and cultures because I was so interested in foreign languages that I can talk with people from various countries.
Fortunately, I got an opportunity to live in two foreign countries, one year in Belgium and two years in Oman.
In those two countries, all the work that I had to do was doubled compared to work in Korea. However, I never felt frustrated, and I set aims for my academic grades and future despite the new environment and stressful situations in my high school life. I studied hard every day including school works and foreign languages, read books on various subjects, remained serious and passionate every time.
All of my efforts were well demonstrated at the Model United Nations, also known as MUN.
For the first time in MUN, adapting to MUN activities was so difficult. I had to research debate topics, write a resolution, and communicate with new people. Sometimes, I wanted to give up and quit MUN, but I tried to overcome all difficulties so that I can reach the aims that I set before. Model United Nations made me a more confident and ambitious person, and it made me realize how interested I am in international relations and community. For these reasons, I wanted to study more international relations, and I came to write this motivation letter.
In-depth international relations and laws are what I am looking forward to studying. I want to be a person who connects the world. I want to use all my abilities that I can use for as many people as possible. I believe that if I can work for an international organization or become a diplomat, I can achieve the abovementioned.
I hardly trust Leiden University is the best choice to study international relations and I wish to give a great contribution to international societies through all the studies and experiences at Leiden University.
Thank you for your time in considering my motivation letter,
Which areas were you asked to cover, and what's the submission deadline?

The deadline is Feb 5th, and they want me to cover reason why I choose for the bachelor programme International Relations , link between my interest in the bachelor programme and my experience and knowledge, and connection between my future plan and the program
shinys9317 All of my efforts were well demonstrated at the Model United Nations, also known as MUN.For the first time in MUN, adapting to MUN activities was so difficult.
What do you mean by that? Did you enter some competition?
Also, can you write a little more about how the program you're applying for will fit into your future plan?
Yes, I went to a conference in my high school, and I was selected as a member of the global MUN conference in Dubai. I wanted to say that I overcame all difficult things in high school and the outcome from those efforts helped me be a good student at MUN, even though MUN also requires tough works.
So, I wanted to be a diplomat or work in international organizations such as the EU and UN, and I think the programs that University provides are very relevant, and I think it will be really helpful for my future plan.

My drive to study international relations was ignited by my discovery of the Western narrative that has shaped my view of the world. International Relations Specialist Cover Letter Writing Tips
1. show your passion for the field.
When applying for a job as an international relations specialist, it’s important to show your passion for the field. This can be done by discussing your previous experiences in the field, as well as your academic achievements.
You might also want to highlight any awards or scholarships you’ve received that are related to international relations. Doing this will show employers that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the role.
2. Customize your cover letter
Just as you would with any other job application, it’s important to customize your cover letter to match the specific requirements of the position. This means paying close attention to the job description and highlighting any of your skills and experiences that match the requirements.
For example, if the job listing mentions that they’re looking for someone with experience in event planning, be sure to mention any events you’ve planned in the past. If you have any foreign language skills, be sure to list them in your cover letter as well.
3. Demonstrate your problem-solving skills
As an international relations specialist, you’ll be expected to solve a variety of problems for your clients. To demonstrate that you have the necessary skills for the job, discuss a problem you’ve solved in the past and how you did it.
Be sure to provide as much detail as possible, including the steps you took to find a solution and the outcome of your efforts. This will show employers that you have the ability to think critically and come up with creative solutions when faced with a difficult situation.
4. Proofread your cover letter
Just as with any other job application, it’s important to proofread your cover letter for mistakes. Typos and errors can give the impression that you’re not detail-oriented or that you’re not taking the job application process seriously.
