The Ultimate Study Music Playlist

This is a playlist of my favorite study music. It’s great for homework, studying for exams, reading, and generally getting crap crossed off my many checklists.

I’ve been working on this playlist for several years, and it contains music (all non-lyrical) from a wide variety of genres and sources, including video game/anime/movie soundtracks. At the moment, it’s got about 240 songs for you to choose from.

Listening on another app? I’ve worked to mirror this study playlist to other services. Check them out below:

  • Spotify Study Music Playlist
  • Apple Music Study Playlist

If you’d like, you can study with me in another tab while this plays. You can also listen to the playlist on YouTube instead of on this page.

By the way – I create my own study music as well! If you’d like to give it a listen, here’s a playlist:

You can also follow me on Spotify or on YouTube if you want to be notified when new tracks are released.

Need even more study music?

Here are a few options.

Brain.fm – Music designed specifically to help you focus more effectively. It works really well for me, and I use it for around 50% of my research, writing, and reading sessions – the other half are mostly done with the playlist above.

Piano Study Playlist – If you’re in the mood for a more consistent playlist, check out this one full of solo piano tracks.

Coffitivity – Sometimes I’m in the mood for ambient noise instead of music, and the sounds of a bustling coffee shop are my personal favorite type.

Noisli – An ambient noise generator that lets you create your own mix using sounds like rain, thunder, fan, and white/brown/pink noise.

More Playlists

Work Vibes – My personal playlist of “getting-stuff-done” music. Most of the tracks here have vocals, so I wouldn’t read or study intently with them. But they’re great for crushing emails, working on design projects, or doing other work where I simply need to execute quickly.

Tom’s Workout Playlist – A collection of the tracks that usually accompany me to the gym.

The Best Study Music: What to Listen to While Doing Homework

Singersroom Music

Students and music cannot be separated because they all love music and some can keep their players on an entire day. Music can help lift mood even when the student is alone in their rooms, relaxing outdoors, or walking. In the study room, not all music will be good when you are doing your homework.

You need to concentrate on getting the answers right because some types of music will just keep distracting you and you might lose an important point. The following music is good to listen to during homework time.

Hip hop is generally called hip hop culture because its lovers believe it promotes a music culture globally. Being one of the oldest music genres, Hip hop blends several tunes and vocals into one piece of a song that is vibrant, confronting, and celebrating life.

This is one of the styles of music a student can listen to while doing homework because it mostly speaks about real-life experiences and encourages a listener when they realize they are not the only ones experiencing a challenging moment. It can help encourage a student do homework even when they feel like the task is too difficult for them.

Other type of Homework help

If you want to do well in college, always make an effort to do all the homework your teacher assigns you. It helps improve learning and you will reap the good fruits of education. Despite your efforts to do your best and complete all academic work, sometimes you feel you need help. You don’t have to worry because Edubirdie can do your homework while you concentrate on your study. You can get help from their professional writers any time because they help every student according to their needs.

Country music

Country hits are mostly associated with things that touch on independence and freedom. The artists sing about situations they went through yet overcame. Some sing about terrible adversities like alcoholism, fighting, rejections, and such incidences and how they eventually overcame. Doing a ton of homework is not always easy because some assignments can be tough and complex. The student might feel it was not meant for them but if they can tune and listen to several country hits, they can start feeling encouraged and go on with their assignments.

Jamaican reggae is characterized by features such as amplified guitars, offbeat quavers, electric guitars, and a large number of drums. It is a genre that is more masculine than feminine and male students love this genre. Although it doesn’t have a unique rhythm, reggae reflects culture, values, and spirituality. Some researchers say listening to reggae can help students do better in math because the spirituality in reggae can help condition the mind to learn. If a student has some math to do in their homework subject, they might consider listening to reggae.

Classical music forms a combination of sophisticated tunes and vocals and this is what makes this genre popular. Researchers believe classical music nurtures the soul and helps grow the mind. Other studies say when a student creates a habit of listening to classical music, their language skills develop fast. They also benefit from improved spatial skills, reasoning skills, and better intelligence. These are benefits that can help a student do their homework better.

Instrumental

Instruments-only music was traditionally used as a substitute for vocals and to create music for dancing. Listening to this genre can help an individual learn better about other cultures and appreciate the expertise of instrumentalists. When used by a student, it can help boost critical thinking and improve development for creativity. These are important skills needed for higher student productivity.

Nature sounds

According to recent data, listening to recorded sounds of nature has many benefits to the mind. It helps reduce stress, pain and increase mood. The study further says listening to natural sounds helps an individual create a sense of safety and they can stop worrying about what is happening outside and concentrate on what is before them. A student can do their homework better when listening to recorded natural sounds.

Music has immeasurable benefits to students while at school, commuting, or relaxing. A student can listen to music to improve cognitive skills and enhance their memory. Students who create a habit of listening to music when doing their homework may enjoy doing their assignments without feeling stressed. Currently, there are over 1,000 music genres in the market and this gives a student freedom to choose which genre is best for them .

What is the 'Jeopardy!' spinoff? 'Pop Culture Jeopardy!' team game coming to Amazon Prime

homework pop video

"Jeopardy!" fans, are you ready?

The game show franchise is officially expanding to the streaming world for the first time with the newly announced Amazon Prime Video spinoff "Pop Culture Jeopardy!"

The collaboration with Sony Pictures Television, which produces the OG show, will appear exclusively on Amazon in more than 240 countries worldwide, the streaming giant announced Tuesday at its "upfront" ad-sales presentation in New York.

"Pop Culture Jeopardy!" will give a new twist on the classic quiz show's "answer-and-question" format combining the "academic rigor of 'Jeopardy!' with the excitement and unpredictability of pop culture," a statement said.

Prime Video's "Pop Culture Jeopardy!" will transcend pop culture moments and generations.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

Contestants, playing in teams of three, must unite to answer questions ranging from alternative rock to "The Avengers," Broadway to MMA and Gen Z to Zendaya in a tournament-style event.

INTERVIEW: Ken Jennings on 'Jeopardy!' Tournament of Champions, 'misogynistic' Mayim Bialik critics

'Pop Culture Jeopardy!' premiere date

No date was given for the new show's streaming life-off.

Who will host 'Pop Culture Jeopardy!'?

A host for "Pop Culture Jeopardy!" will be announced "at a later date," the announcement teased.

The prize money, too, remains an unanswered question. Additionally, "for those who wish to compete on 'Pop Culture Jeopardy!', information regarding the contestant application will be available soon."

More: Mayim Bialik announces she's 'no longer' hosting 'Jeopardy!'

The syndicated version "Jeopardy!" premiered nearly 40 years ago on September 10, 1984, with Ken Jennings currently serving as host. Alex Trebek hosted the show until he died in 2020.

Mayim Bialik, who was announced as the permanent co-host  of the quiz show alongside former champion  Jennings , shared in December she would no longer host "Jeopardy!"

Other show spinoffs include "Rock & Roll Jeopardy!" hosted by Jeff Probst; it ran for four seasons on VH1 from 1998-2001.

With a sequel in the works, ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ stars reflect on its success — and R rating

Taylor Zakhar Perez, left, and Nicholas Galitzine in "Red, White & Royal Blue."

LOS ANGELES — When  “Red, White & Royal Blue”  debuted last summer, it did so without fanfare or spectacle, landing squarely amid historic  Hollywood strikes  that precluded its stars from lending their press-friendly faces to promote the movie.

But the lack of publicity surrounding the Amazon Studios rom-com’s premiere didn’t deter it from becoming a hit with audiences. The streaming service said it was the top watched film on its platform for weeks, and that it brought in a surge of subscribers.

As a further testament to the movie’s success, the studio recently announced — amid a determined Emmy campaign — that a sequel was in the works, which is no small feat given the slowed production that has followed the resolution of the strikes.

For stars  Nicholas Galitzine  and  Taylor Zakhar Perez,  watching the film gain that kind of organic fanbase was particularly meaningful because of the role “Red, White & Royal Blue” plays in queer storytelling.

“After filming and kind of getting some space from it is when I really realized what this was going to do for the community. And people outside of the community,” Perez said. “It just provides empathy, you know?”

Taylor Zakhar Perez, left, and Nicholas Galitzine in "Red, White & Royal Blue."

The film is reminiscent of the kind of fairytale flick that was seemingly ubiquitous two decades ago, familiar in every way except for the fact that its lovers are both men.

The movie, directed by Matthew López, the Tony-winning playwright of “The Inheritance” who co-wrote the script with Ted Malawer, is based on the bestselling novel by Casey McQuiston. It’s a hate-turns-to-love story about a British prince who begins a secret romantic affair with the son of the American president (played in the movie by a drawling Uma Thurman).

Galitzine is fresh off a press tour for another Amazon rom-com —  “The Idea of You”  — where he plays a 24-year-old pop star who begins a relationship with a single 40-year-old mom  (Anne Hathaway).

While its backdrops of Los Angeles and Coachella are miles and worlds away from the scenes of Washington and Buckingham Palace that adorn “Red, White & Royal Blue,” Galitzine says both films contain similar themes to which the actor is often drawn.

“I find people who are trapped by circumstance really interesting,” he said. “People may be thinking they’re one way, but not really sort of knowing their inner qualities and thoughts. I think that’s kind of been a recurring thing I’ve found quite interesting over the years.”

Taylor Zakhar Perez, left, and Nicholas Galitzine in "Red, White & Royal Blue."

“Red, White & Royal Blue” contains fewer sex scenes than the novel upon which it is based, but that didn’t stop the film from getting an R rating from the Motion Picture Association, frustrating some fans following its release.

Both Galitzine and Perez said they were surprised when they found out about the rating and agreed with critics who said it wasn’t warranted.

“You Americans are very sensitive,” Galitzine observed before his co-star interjected, musing about what he perceives to be a double standard.

“You can point-blank shoot someone and it’s PG-13,” Perez said. “If you have queer romance on screen, it’s rated R.”

'Say hello to my a--': Britney Spears posts nude video as mental health concerns grow

by JESSICA A. BOTELHO | The National Desk

LOS ANGELES (TND) — Pop princess Britney Spears is no stranger to posting provocative images on social media, but her content is getting increasingly risquĂ© as concerns about her mental health continue to increase.

Spears shared a video on Instagram late Wednesday night that shows her naked and laying face down in shallow water along the shore of an undisclosed beach. She sticks her bare behind up in the air as she smiles, wearing only a necklace and a pair of sunglasses.

Say hello to my a--!!!," Spears captioned the video.

Spears originally wrote a different caption, noting that she "raised my a-- a little higher so I have more booty." She also said she has been "thinking of getting injections on my a-- to make it fuller like that.”

***WARNING: The following video contains graphic content. Viewer discretion is advised.***

A quick scroll through the 42-year-old pop superstar's recently shared photos and videos reveals a slew of images in which she is seen sporting bikinis and dancing -- or wearing little to no clothes.

She made headlines in September for posting a video of her dancing while holding large knives . At the time, she claimed the knives weren't real.

I started playing in the kitchen with knives today!!!" Spears wrote.

She later edited the caption and added, "Don’t worry they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon!!!"

The videos come as the public grows more and more worried about the star's state of mind.

According to TMZ , a source said Spears is in "serious danger" both mentally and financially, as she has been experiencing "radical mood swings". The media outlet said the source also claimed Spears is "completely dysfunctional" and "doing way worse than she was under the conservatorship," which started in 2008.

She was taken out of the conservatorship in November 2021 after a pair of speeches she made to a judge turned what had been a growing public sentiment against it into a cause best known by the hashtag #FreeBritney.

But several elements remained and dragged on in court, including final payments to the attorneys who helped operate the conservatorship. Spears' attorney Mathew Rosengart had also sought a public reckoning over what he said was financial malfeasance by her father, Jamie Spears, and allegations of excessive surveillance of his daughter.

A final settlement in the conservatorship case was reached April 26, securing her total freedom.

Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete," Rosengart said in a statement. "As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter. It has been our honor and privilege to represent, protect, and defend Britney Spears.

That same year, The New York Times Presents released a documentary called "Framing Britney Spears." It highlighted her rise to fame and mental health issues, which first came to light after she suffered several public episodes, including shaving her head in 2007 and hitting a photographer’s car with an umbrella after he tried snapping images of her.

She was later hospitalized after she lost custody of her two sons to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. Soon after, her father petitioned the court for the conservatorship.

Spears talked about her mental health struggles, as well as problems she had with her family, in her memoir, "The Woman in Me." In the tell-all, which was released in October, she also spoke of the heartache she felt amid her toxic relationship with fellow pop star Justin Timberlake, saying he got her pregnant and then talked her into aborting their unborn baby more than 20 years ago.

If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it,” she wrote of the procedure. “And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life," she also wrote.

She has had more recent relationship woes. Her marriage to Sam Asghari's marriage was recently finalized by a Los Angeles County judge, nearly two years after the two were married .

The judgment was made in late April, just hours after Spears and the 30-year-old model and actor informed the court that they had reached a divorce settlement.Spears and Asghari separated in July, and he filed for divorce in August. They had been dating for about seven years.

A contestant's bizarre wheel of fortune puzzle answer turned into a nsfw disaster, share this article.

On Thursday’s Wheel of Fortune , contestant Tavares made a guess that nobody will ever forget … for all the wrong reasons.

While trying to solve a puzzle, Tavares dinged in with his buzzer to suggest the kinda-sorta NSFW answer was, we mean this seriously…

“Right in the butt.” Yikes.

As you can imagine, the answer was absolutely not “Right in the butt,” being that the first word only had four letters, and this is a family game show that comes on while people eat dinner.

The entire room was shocked at the guess, as longtime host Pat Sajak quickly rejected Tavares’ answer. The actual answer? “This is the best.”

Tavares didn't correctly solve the puzzle. But we won't soon forget this response. pic.twitter.com/UsoKqhifwU — Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) May 24, 2024

We’re guessing Tavares probably wants this answer back in retrospect.

Michael Keaton in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the follow-up to the 1988 comedy-horror classic. Michael Keaton returns as the foul-mouthed, shape-shifting ghoul joined by new cast members Jenna Ortega , Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci and Justin Theroux. Also reprising their roles from the original film are Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara.

Popular on Variety

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is the latest horror title to star scream queen Ortega, who has made a name for herself as a genre staple. She previously starred in the Netflix original series “Wednesday” as the titular Addams’ family member as well as Ti West’s “X” and two installments of the rebooted “Scream” franchise. However, it was recently announced that Ortega would not return for “Scream 7” due to a scheduling conflict with “Wednesday” Season 2.

Tim Burton returns to produce and direct the “Beetlejuice” sequel from a script by “Wednesday” screenwriters Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Executive producers include Brad Pitt, David Katzenberg, Laurence Senelick, Gough, Millar, Sara Desmond, Katterli Frauenfelder and Andrew Lary. Tommy Harper, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner serve as producers. Danny Elfman is set to compose the music for the film.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” will haunt theaters starting Sept. 6. Watch the trailer below.
